Seeing him every single day, Adelman has a better idea of what Shabazz needs to work on than you do. And if you watched Gorgui play during Summer League and Preseason, it would only serve as a testament that you CAN improve while not playing.

I saw Shabazz keep playoff hopes against Phoenix, only for Adelman to pull those minutes back to DNP-CD, one after another. So yes, I'll question Adelman's "idea" about these two rookies. He's had his head up his ass all year long.

one good game? come on

One good game in which Adelman didn't give him a chance to continue that stretch. 20 pts in 24 minutes against PHO. Since then he's had ONE game in which he played over 15 minutes.

We have JJ!

Many of our Wolves have tuned out in the 2nd half here, especially Love. Kind of disappointing...

Let's talk about this year, not the past...Adelman was way out of line with the rest of the coaches in the league this year when it came to playing their rookies. Look at Anthony Bennett. Did he need seasoning? I guess...he missed his first 20 shots of the season. But Cleveland kept running him out there anyway. And it was the same story with every other coach in the league. So, as Wolves fans we need to make a decision...whose strategy in playing rookies is the right one? Adelman's, or every other coach. I'm going to go with the majority on this one, and keep whining about Adelman.

That said, you make a valid point about Dieng improving while sitting on the bench, because he was terrible in Summer League. But I would argue that he still would have had plenty of time to improve by watching even if Rick had given him 20 minutes, and likely would have benefited by getting some live experience too.

I think Adelman's rookie strategy is indefensible.

20 minutes? So whose minutes are you taking away from Turiaf and Pek? If Deing got Turiaf's minutes when Turiaf was playing well, people would have freaked out.

Cleveland is 15 games below .500. In the East. Kevin Love would not be thrilled with that at all. Also, Otto Porter and CJ McCollum are racking up DNPs on playoff teams

also gave up draft picks for a player whose not going to resign. If your trying to make a point, using the Cavs staff as an example isn't the best argument

Kms, I think Portland's coaches finally realized that McCollum can't defend...but until they came to that realization, he was getting 20+ minutes a game. Porter may be a bust. But at least both of those guys were given a chance, which is more than Adelman gave our rookies. If he had played them from the start of the season, like the other coaches did, I wouldn't have had a problem if he limited their minutes late in the season (again, like many of the other coaches are doing), if they were hurting our playoff chances (like CJ and Porter were doing). But the way our rookies have played when given significant minutes, I suspect they would have helped us a lot all season.

Tonight is a great example. Wins and losses mean little at this point and the guys Rick think can play have us down 22 to the Clippers...and he still won't play the 13th pick of the draft. It's ridiculous!

Adelman thinks he's smartest guy in the room, but this year he's the dumbest.

Do you really think people would have freaked out about Dieng taking away minutes from Turiaf? Jeez, Turiaf is one of my favorite guys, but it wouldn't have bothered me at all. If Rick had given 20 minutes to Dieng, we could have seen what he could do at PF, and maybe limiting Pek's minutes might have prevented all of his injuries.

Rick was right. There's no way Shabazz could have contributed to our bench this year. None at all.

The whole problem with fans and rookies (as opposed to coaches and rookies) is that only the good is evaluated, not the bad.
