So you are saying Occam is wrong?!?FNG wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 6:48 amI could very well be proven wrong on this one, future, but I'm with you. Scoot's poor 3-point shooting, propensity to turn the ball over, and indifferent defense make him far from a sure thing in my book. I saw this as a 2-person draft, with Scoot lumped in a second tier with several other potential stars. He does have a terrific ability to get to the rim, so there's that. He also is quite charismatic, and is likely to be a very popular with the media. I suspect this last element has a lot to do with scouts overlooking his deficiencies to anoint him as a future star.TheFuture wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:43 pmI also don't see defense, or true pg playmaking. Scoot’s probably Portland’s most valuable asset to get a good vet in return to pair with Lillard. I’m not totally sold on Scoot. His G-League numbers were good but not eye-popping. His 27.5% three-point shooting is a read flag. His 2.9 foul shots per game is also a troublesome stat for someone as athletic as Scoot. I’ve watched video of him and can see why he’s highly rated. But like any pick other than Wemby, he’s not a sure thing.
Occam's Razor

Agreed. I mean with Wemby already spoken about to death for about half a decade. Who else of the consensus top is there to write about? Wouldn't be Miller with the whole dumb gun thing, especially after the Morant issues dealt with recently. Shouldn't be one of the twins. They've played with another top talent their entire life - no need to divide on them until they're alone. It left Scoot.FNG wrote: ↑Tue Jun 27, 2023 6:48 amI could very well be proven wrong on this one, future, but I'm with you. I'll assume you're just out on Scoot and that's fine.TheFuture wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:37 pmBut what is so special about Scoot?Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:35 pmLol. Apparently, Lillard has his list and Draymond’s on it. I would think KAT’s on it too. But TC has be crystal clear that he wants to win next season. Trading KAT for Scoot runs counter to TC’s goal. It’s not going to happen. KAT or Rudy will probably be traded next summer - unless the two really click together and the Wolves make the NBA finals (or at least the Western Conference finals).
I think Portland will end up trading Scoot this summer for someone, but it won’t be for Green or KAT. I’ve already called Portland’s front office and offered Rudy Gobert. They said they’d get back to me. Oddly, they’ve never contacted me in the 4 weeks since my call.
But then what is your solution for PG long term? It's not coming via the draft.

No, I am asking anyone to point me to why he is considered to be what everybody says about him as being this next big thing at PG. I legitimately either have not seen enough or haven't noticed something significant.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 28, 2023 4:47 pmI'll assume you're just out on Scoot and that's fine.TheFuture wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:37 pmBut what is so special about Scoot?Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 26, 2023 10:35 pm

I listened to some scouting reports of Scoot and his biggest draw seems to be that he is a pick and roll wizard and some say he is possibly the best pick and roll player at his age ever. Some say they feel his shooting and defense is projectable to be good down the road.

Yep.
Don't know what else Future is looking for here. There are glowing reports all over about Scoot Henderson.
