That suggests his market will be less annually. That could potentially change if cap space teams strike out on their first few options. It's a calculated risk.
Exactly, Phenom. My sense is that NAW’s market value right now is around $4M per year. As you noted, that could change as free agency progresses. But as much as I like NAW, we should keep in mind that he has a career 39.7 FG percentage and a career 34% three-point percentage. He has a career 71.3% free throw shooter. His FG and 3-point shooting were much better last season than his career averages, but that’s a limited sample. I really liked his defense and his overall potential. But I’m sure other teams have him way down on their list of preferred free agents.
Good point on his numbers. Also his PT has been in flux since he has been in the league. He probably recognizes that he is in a good spot to showcase himself in Minnesota with possibly a player option in a year or two to make himself some money later

There was never a chance the Wolves were going to make the QO to NAW. I'm sure they have designs on a bigger fish, and $7Large to NAW didn't make sense.

Since we haven't seen any indication that Nate was waived, I assume the Wolves have accepted his 400K guarantee for next season. Actually, at just under 2 mil for next season, he's cheaper than if you waived and then re-signed him. So he's a reasonable choice to fill out their bench fodder.

I jumped the gun! Knight has been waived.

Good news. It made no sense to tie up any precious salary space in Knight. I don’t dislike him as a player, but he’s not good enough to keep as a redundant big with limited payroll space and other more pressing needs.

So basically the Wolves let Prince go and replaced him with 2 players in Troy Brown Jr and Shake Milton for probably less than 1 million more than what Prince would cost. It’s actually less than that considering how much a vet min is. Brown got a little more than I would have expected but having that 2nd year team option might have been why they were willing to go a little higher. Anyway it’s not a guarantee that either guy will be as good as Prince but I think Shake was a pretty good signing.
