You have a math problem there, FNG. Assuming JMac is in, playing TBJ would be a 10-man rotation!

Finch indicated both yesterday and today that JMac is in. Between the team's ongoing turnover problem, and JMac's really nice game against the Knicks, it seems like a done deal.

We've seen a lot of complaints about the Wolves offense. But the main culprit is the turnovers. Take those out and the offense is just fine.

Very true. We are 8th in the league in effective FG% and 6th in FTA to FGA attempts. That means when we don't turn it over, we're top 10 in offensive efficiency. We aren't a great offensive rebounding team (21st in the NBA), but I'm OK with that if it means better transition defense. We are second to last in turnover percentage (meaning 2nd highest!). Get that to league average and may be we can finally be an upper half offense versus bottom half!

Our defense is starting to show some cracks against these really good teams. Some nights we'll have to score 115+ points to win.

Finch should know what he's getting with pretty much everyone on the bench except Minott. For example, no one should be surprised by what JMac can do as a backup PG since Finch has seen him in this role for a couple years. Even Garza isn't much of a wildcard. You know he can score and rebound, but potentially be a liability defensively.

But Minott....he's a wildcard. He can't shoot and his defense is suspect, but put him out there with the right mix of other guys and may be he has some success as an activity guy. I have my doubts on Minott, but I agree that Finch needs to start mixing and matching a bit.

One problem with Morris is he might not want out of Detroit. It’s his home town team. Seems like he would prefer to play for a contender but just something to consider.

Finch tends to stick with some guys for a while but he is also someone that if you play well you will merit playing time. The Wolves have been healthy enough this season that he hasn’t just been stuck playing some guys. If this was like last year we would be seeing Shake Milton pretty much every night hoping he turns his season around like Nowell last year. Finch has been doing so,e mixing and matching for a few weeks now. I do t know where Garza is going to get any minutes unless there is injuries or massive amounts of foul trouble. I don’t see any reason to play Minott over Troy Brown Jr who plays with energy himself. I like Minott but I don’t really know what he is gonna be able to do.

If the Wolves could get Ivey in exchange for Slo Mo, Leonard Miller and Josh Minott, then what are they waiting for??! That deal would put TC on my Wolves management Mount Rushmore. Note that there are currently no faces carved in my Wolves management Mount Rushmore. .

Brown Jr is a solid player but with him in the rotation it means there is a lack of a guard in the rotation with basically it just being Conley Edwards NAW (more of a caretaker PG) and Anderson who plays as a forward. The Knicks game was an extreme example of the difference it was with McLaughlin in compared to Brown.

Brown has done some nice things but the last stretch he hasn’t done anything that makes him better than say if Jake Layman was out there. Brown is a better player than Layman but he hasn’t done anything that makes me want him out there considering what the Wolves need. He will likely still have value this year but it makes sense to give McLaughlin some run and see what he can do.

It was only one play and probably means very little... but he faked and went baseline vs. the Knicks and it seemed wide open. But instead of throwing it down, he slowed down, hesitated and ended up throwing it harmlessly back out top to reset the offense.

I was surprised. I feel like Brown had more pop than that. But maybe I'm wrong or maybe he just misread the situation.

#4 answer not on the roster, Dennis Schröder would be my favorite but the Delon Wright suggestion seems more possible and I like what he brings as a backup PG.

Perhaps the reappearance and success of JMac as the backup PG makes having to deal for a PG this season unnecessary...assuming he and Bite Bite stay reasonably healthy. The 2024 draft board is quite encouraging also if we are looking for another PG. Even though we will likely be picking toward the end of the first round, I see 10 quality PGs in the top 30 players on most draft boards. There is a good chance there will be a good option available to us when our turn comes up.
