I’d like to see a different head coach in Iowa. To be this bad you have to have a terrible head coach.
I was just catching up on scores after a busy weekend and saw this one. Yes - I agree with you Lip. I don't have confidence in the coaching down there. I don't know what I don't know (maybe it's 100% on the players). But man, something is off and usually the coach is the first place they start to change.

Miller had a triple double: 21 points, 10 assists and 11 rebounds. If he's as lazy as some on here say...I'd love to see what he can do if motivated!
There are loads of examples through the years of NBA players "motivated" to put up good counting statistics but suck on defense.
Miller might be able to make it as a scoring PF next to a defensive C and defensive wing (a combination we happen to have at the moment), but even if the circumstances are perfect, he still needs to improve his effort to avoid imploding an entire defense.
I suspect there might be some NBA front offices that either don't know about or would brush aside the defensive issues with Miller and look at his offensive potential. I would have no problem including him in a trade if it helps get us a legit backup PG or shooter.

I don't disagree with most of what you write here Q. There are some potential red flags. And you are correct, we've seen our share of very talented young guys flow in/out of Timberwolves uniforms who never flipped the switch on potential vs. actual production. I'm just in the camp of letting this play out a little longer based on the fact that he is indeed putting up very good stats while still being one of the youngest guys out there. That said, I again agree with you that I wouldn't be opposed to including him as part of a trade because there are never any guarantees - so this might be his peak value.

Iowa played an early game today and they won for once! But guess who didn't play? Josh Minott and Leonard Miller. Mmmm....
Nice "Mmmm..."!
But I saw they were transferred back to the big club. I would assume either for practice, or availability in tonight's game.
Of course, maybe they are needed tonight because of someone else going out! Mmmm...

The other reason for the "Mmmmmm" is because the team finally won with the 2nd string no-name Center and PF playing in Miller and Minott's place. Tells you about all you need to know about these two.

I didn’t consider that inference of “Mmmm…”. Good point.
Leonard Miller had 30 and 9, but as is usual, he was a team worst -11.
Tyrese Martin went for 20 and 9. I wouldn't mind giving this guy a look with one of the open roster spots. I know nothing about his defense. But he seems like he can shoot the three and rebound well.

Looks like all the main guys were a minus. . I’m down on Miller, but we can’t write him off given his young age and lack of high-level basketball experience.I like that he’s putting up big scoring AND rebounding numbers. He and Minott remain essential young high-upside talents in an organization sorely lacking young talent and draft picks.
Martin continues to intrigue me. Like you, I wouldn’t mind adding slotting him into our last roster spot.
