A teeter between including the Warriors and Lakers in the top tier or not. For now, I'll stick with them in the top tier. Here is the current Klunk-O-Meter standings:

Code: Select all

Top Teams: 76ers,Bucks,Cavaliers,Celtics,Clippers,Heat,Kings,Knicks,Lakers,Mavericks,Nuggets,Pacers,Pelicans,Suns,Thunder,Timberwolves,Warriors

Bottom Teams: Grizzlies,Hawks,Hornets,Jazz,Nets,Pistons,Raptors,Rockets,Spurs,Trail Blazers,Wizards

Projections:
Seed	Team	Wins	Losses	Klunks	Anti-Ks
	1.	Nuggets	58	24	0	1
	2.	Thunder	57	25	0	0
	3.	Wolves	57	25	1	0
	4.	Clips	56	26	2	0
	5.	Kings	52	30	1	1
	6.	Pels	52	30	2	1
	7.	Mavs	50	32	0	0
	8.	Lakers	50	32	0	1
	9.	Suns	48	34	1	0
	10.	Wars	47	35	1	0

Thank you Wemby for handing OkC a big klunker tonight. It drops the thunder into 3rd place on my forecast (and a game behind us in the actual standings), and leaves us tied with the Nuggets. We currently own the tiebreaker 1-0, but there are still 3 big games to go...2 in Denver.

Minnesota 57
Denver 57
OkC 56
Clips 55

The disappointing loss tonight brings my projection down to 55 wins.

Klunker night for the Wolves. Drops us into a 2-way tie on my forecast with OKC at 56 wins...one game behind Denver and one ahead of the now Westbrookless Clippers.

Denver win in LA probably shouldn't have been an Anti-Klunker, because they were slightly favored, but it counts as one under my formula. So Denver has created a little space in the 4-team race.

Denver: 58
Wolves: 56
Thunder: 56
Clippers: 55

Needless to say, today's matinee tilt against the Clippers is vitally important to any chance we have of getting to that top seed. But even more important will be the three remaining games against the Nuggets.

Yeah, the post all-star games have been a disaster as a little separation is beginning to appear...all in our disfavor. As Q has said before, I'm not concerned about us falling out of the top 4, so we can look forward to home court advantage in the first round...albeit likely against a very good team. But we're slipping in the race for #1:

Nuggets: 58
Thunder: 57
Clippers: 56
Wolves: 55

Lakers beating OKC might be helpful down the road. And I don't know what the hell happened in Sacramento!

On the bright side for the Wolves, the KOM says they should lose their next four games. That means they have Anti-Klunker opportunities! :D

Ha, two ways of looking at this, Tim. Yeah, we have a good chance of a couple Anti-Klunkers. But it's also inevitable we are going to drop to 4th in the standings over the next 10 days. We will be likely underdogs in the next 4 games, but OkC will be favored in their next 8, Denver in their next 4, and the Clippers in their next 5! If everyone holds serve, we will be 4 games behind the Thunder in 10 days, and their will be lots of handwringing and bed wetting on this forum! But fear not. Our schedule softens after that, and OkC's gets really tough. This race is still wide open.

I see us going 2-2 in the next 4 which would keep us at a 54 win pace.
