I have us going 9-3 down the stretch with the only losses coming against Denver (2) and either the Lakers or Phoenix on the road.

Clippers go down at home to the 76ers, let's take care of business tonight and build that cushion

Yeah, great outcome for us. That's gotta be a Klunker for some of you prognosticators out there, no? Clippers at full strength too. And Philly has been struggling without Embiid. Bad loss for them.

I added the Rockets to the KOM because they are clearly a threat to the Warriors. The Pelicans have overtaken the Clippers for the 4th seed. A cushion for the Kings has developed for the 6th seed. That is going to be a hell of a play-in!

A couple of other notes:
- while the Nuggets are a +3 in anti-klunkers, they only have one more anti-klunker opportunity remaining. The KOM assumes they will win all but one of their remaining games.
- the Wolves have 4 more anti-klunker opportunities, including 2 at Denver. Winning those 2 games would put them in a tie AND give the tiebreaker to the Wolves.
- the Thunder have 5 more anti-klunker opportunities, including tonight at the Pelicans.

While Denver is in the driver's seat, this really is a tight 3-team race for the #1 seed.

Code: Select all

Top Teams: 76ers,Bucks,Cavaliers,Celtics,Clippers,Heat,Kings,Knicks,Lakers,Magic,Mavericks,Nuggets,Pacers,Pelicans,Rockets,Suns,Thunder,Timberwolves,Warriors

Bottom Teams: Grizzlies,Hornets,Jazz,Nets,Pistons,Raptors,Spurs,Trail Blazers,Wizards

Projections:
Seed	Team	Wins	Losses	Klunks	Anti-Ks	Net-Ks
	1.	Nuggets	60	22	1	4	3
	2.	Wolves	56	26	4	2	-2
	3.	Thunder	56	26	2	2	0
	4.	Pels	52	30	3	3	0
	5.	Clips	51	31	7	2	-5
	6.	Kings	50	32	5	4	-1
	7.	Mavs	47	35	2	0	-2
	8.	Lakers	47	35	3	1	-2
	9.	Suns	46	36	4	2	-2
	10.	Wars	43	39	5	2	-3
	11.	Rockets	43	39	2	2	0

Thanks for the update, Tim. Our models are quite different, as I have the Wolves destined for third place unless they can upset Denver a couple times. While I am showing some separation 1-4, I currently have a logjam at 5-8 which I'll update i that thread. My current 1-4:

Denver: 59
OkC: 57
Wolves: 55
Clips: 51

Pelicans go down at home to OKC, the top 3 cushion rapidly grows. Seems like yesterday we were sweating the Clippers catching us

Wolves are a virtual lock at top 3. There magic number is 6. If the wolves went 5-6 down the stretch the clippers would have to go 11-0

Dang. I was kind of rooting for the Pelicans in that one since the 3rd seed seemed pretty secure for us and the 2nd seed potentially within our grasp. That's a big road win for OKC.

Q, I still hope for the first seed. But whether we finish 1st, 2nd, or 3rd, I think we have a great chance to make the conference finals. I don't believe OKC can beat us in a 7 game series, regardless of who has the home court advantage.

I'm optimistic about tomorrow's slate. Phoenix coming off a bad loss will be plenty motivated against Denver. Houston is riding a 9 game win streak against OKC who played today. Wolves need to smack the Pistons up and take care of business.
