And Eric Gordon goes to Philly on a vet-minimum deal. Hopefully he starts a string of vet-minimum signings!

Assuming KCP to Orlando is not a sign-and-trade, and give the all-out release of CP3, it's refreshing to see some of these big salary slots evaporate for some of our competitors.
Paul George is just leaving...wow. Meanwhile the Clippers do not control any of their 1st or 2nd round picks through 2029 and currently have no incoming picks. They got Kevin Porter Jr though and that could actually be a pretty good signing.

This will move them below one or both aprons, so I think they wind up having both the full MLE and Bi-Annual Exception.

I like Slomo for this team. I feel he makes a lot of wise, veteran type plays especially on defense. I'm hearing he is pointing toward the full MLE though, might be too rich for us.

Some good news so far in free agency activity. Some key players are leaving their current Western Conference teams for Eastern Conference teams. KCP is leaving the rival Denver Nuggets and signing with the Eastern Conference Orlando Magic while Eric Gordon is leaving the Phoenix Suns for the Sixers. Paul George is reportedly leaving the Clippers and it looks like the Sixers are the leading candidate to land him. While some Western Conference teams like the Thunder and Rockets have improved, it’s good to see a couple rivals lose key players to Eastern Conference teams.

Right, but it comes at a cost in terms of the luxury tax bill, no? In addition, we need to move on from him. He helped us graduate to a legit playoff team, but his unwillingness and inability to shoot the 3 in an absolute killer in the playoffs. It mucks up our half court and none of the other stuff he does well makes up for the issues he creates with his inability to shoot.

We need other guys to step up and start being the adults in the room and help settle us down in half court sets. We still have Mommy and Daddy in Conley and Rudy, but wise old Uncle SloMo needs to go.
Yes it will be very costly to keep SloMo but I am under the assumption that the team is willing to spend to a point. Letting him walk will necessitate moving bigger core pieces sooner to improve the team. Otherwise he is replaced by a minimum signing which won't be very valuable on the trade market.
