Glad he signed elsewhere as there are lots of point guard options. Some, I like Monte, Fultz, Dennis Smith, Kris Dunn and even Killian Hayes. Wright is reliable but he's too old for my liking.

Man, OKC is really building something.
Yes they are. I do want to say they are going to get really expensive soon but at the moment super scary team
Ugh. We knew they would eventually address the size issue. Why Presti didn't do it at the trade deadline last season is a mystery, but Hartenstein is a really good get for them.

The one caveat is that they can't play 5-out with him. They were a little bit like the Celtics-West team this past season with Chet and Williams as their starting 5 and 4 and able to space the floor. Hartenstein will allow guys like Rudy to stay in the paint a bit more when on defense.
I don't like saying this because I like Hartenstein but IMHO that's an overpay for him. He is a good fit though.

One thing that helps Hartenstein despite him not being a 3 point shooter is that he is a pretty good passer. You have to account for that defensively.

Yeah, Garza is one of these guys that could help us win a few regular season games in the dog days of the season in January and February when a lot of teams are banged up and resting folks (including us). He may never see a playoff rotation, yet he can score at will against a lot of opposing team's 2nd/3rd unit guys.

We need to be looking for these types of guys. Look at Hartenstein getting almost 30 million a year. Even a guy like Derrick Jones Jr who was more of a young vet with a flaw who I have always liked. There are some worthwhile guys out there any team can sign for cheap it would be nice to get another one.

He is a guy that also seems to keep improving in some way and does everything to maximize what he can give to a team. One skill he has that could be useful for a short stint in the playoffs for some offense and or a bigger body is he draws fouls.

Every year, I think it is easier to get quality guys for the vet minimum. The 55-60 draftees and a handful of undrafted free agents are going to be vying for a roster spot each year and probably 50% or more land on NBA rosters, meanwhile, probably no more than 10 or so guys voluntarily retire as career length has expanded as the NBA has become more of a skills league rather than a physical league. Also, the explosion of talent internationally has produced more young talent. Plus you got a system where the top 3-7 guys get most of the money on contending teams and so the rest of the team is getting rookie money, vet minimum or close to vet minimum. There will be decent players available at the minimum and there will even be some noteworthy players that don't get an NBA contract for the regular season. I'm excited to see what the vet minimum pool offers as far as talent and hopefully we'll get some of the better talent.

Boston got Derrick White on a real nice long term deal. Boston is in the second apron for the foreseeable future.

Klay to Dallas is a nice pick up for them. He’s gonna make a living on Luka kick outs. Wide open 3s all day long.
