Yeah, TBJ wouldn't be a bad consolation prize, but if we have to play him regular minutes as a backup 3 it means Shannon and Minott are flops. Ingles would be better IMO.Monster wrote: ↑Mon Jul 01, 2024 1:59 pmIngles and Batum are more proven vets but if we swing and miss on guys like that I'm still interested in Troy Brown Jr for the vet min. I'm not expecting him to be quite as valuable as Derrick Jones Jr was for the Mavs last year but it feels like he could be a guy that ends up being more valuable than a vet min salary. He turns 25 this month. If I remember right are some other Vet options though that may end up being available for the vet min.

We can see what’s happening. Contending teams below the second apron will sign the guys we’d like for more than the vet minimum using their MLEs, BAEs and trade exceptions. Batum was one example. I anticipate Joe Ingles ending up with another contending team for more than the vet minimum, although we might have a shot based on his connection to Rudy and Rebuilding teams with a lot of cap room will have the inside track on younger players like Lonnie Walker IV, Dennis Smith, Saddiq Bey, etc. who we might be interested in because rebuilding teams can offer them more playing time.
Here’s my list of somewhat realistic free agents who the Wolves might be able to get on a vet minimum deal:
Cameron Payne
Pat Bev
Jae Crowder - will probably get an offer above the vet minimum from another contender, but he’s still on the board.
Seth Curry
Kris Dunn (remember him?)
Patty Mills

Klay should sign with the Wolves for the vet minimum.

It’s official. Klay on his way to Dallas.

OKC, Dallas and the Thunder will be tough next season. Denver still has the best player in the game along with Murray, Porter, and Gordon. So the Nuggets are not going away. If AD stays healthy the Lakers will be tough. And I wouldn’t sleep on Houston.
I would expect the Wolves, OKC and Dallas to be the top three teams in the West next season assuming their key guys stay healthy.

LeBron is now expected to sign a max after offering up to a 20 million pay cut. They missed out on everyone, I'm honestly stunned! One of the more embarrassing FA moments for the Lakers that I can remember lol
