Yep. Detroit won and Utah lost. So it was a good night for the Wolves upcoming draft. :).

I’ve noticed Beasley’s having a terrific season for Detroit. It forces me to think of what the Wolves would be like now if they had Beasley, Walker Kessler, KAT, Hartenstein (signed as a free agent), no apron restrictions and all of our future 1st round picks through 2030 as well as whatever assets we would have received for Vanderbilt and Pat Bev. Alas, what might have been. :)
Ha, let it go Lip, let it go! I may make you watch "Frozen" a dozen times to get that lesson grilled into you!

I think DDV is a better version of Beasley, but we first need to a) get him healthy, and b) stop pretending he can play PG. Put him in a pure 6th man movement shooter role and we'll be in business.
lol. I just can’t let it go!! Any time Kessler or Beasley has a good game my obsession gets the best of me. :). Actually, I share your view of DDV as a better version of Beasley. DDV does more stuff. But I’d rather have Beasley and KAT than DDV and Randle and it’s not even close in my mind. Nevertheless, I like DDV as part of the Wolves 2.0 that I’m hoping the organization pivots to before the end of this season. Ant, Jaden, Naz, Dilly, TSJ, Garza, DDV and Rudy - that’s my core for the next iteration of the Wolves. I see Minott, Miller and Clark orbiting around that core and potentially landing as part of it. If we can get below the 1st apron we can use full MLE to sign a backup defensive center to play behind and possibly replace Rudy if he gets traded.
Hey Beasley is on his 4th team in 3 years since being traded from Minnesota

The last 2 seasons Beasley has gone where he has had the best opportunity to play. Honestly he might not have even resigned with the Wolves depending on who was still there. Detroit had a good off-season adding some legit vets who can play to supplement the guys on their roster. Beasley for 6 million is looking like a good deal for Detroit. Gary Trent Jr signed with the Bucks taking Beasley's spot for cheaper but idk if he has been and upgrade which to some extent seems a little surprising and I like both guys. Meanwhile Beasley for like 3 million more for a team like Detroit that had some money to spend...its worked out well. They needed shooting and after injuries just some scoring.

That’s right Monster. Specialist bench players often move around a lot based on opportunities for money and fit. I attach red flags to players who fun through a lot of teams only if they are starters. That’s why I had a red flat attachéd to DLO when Rosas acquired him.

I think specialists is the best way to characterize it, whether they start or not. PJ Tucker is another good example. He's played in 104 playoff games for six different teams and started in 90 of them. He's only averaged 7 PPG, but between his defense and 41% shooting on corner 3's he has been an invaluable role player.

Speaking of PJ Tucker...

He is on the Clippers' roster, but has not been with the team all year. I assume the Clippers are holding onto him as salary filler for any potential trade. After the trade deadline, I suspect he will be bought out, assuming he still wants to latch onto a team some where.

His salary is below the MLE, which means an apron team can sign him after he is bought out. Of course, the guy is almost 40 years old...

PJ Tucker is toast that was set to the highest setting for three straight cycles.

I don't think he even offers value as the de facto cheapshot artist and antagonist at this point.

That reminds me of that SNL skit with Melissa McCarthy.

True, he was always a bit of a mud wrestler even in his younger days, but he was absolutely critical to Milwaukee's run to the Finals. He became a caricature of himself in more recent years.

Indiana has been surging of late. It's notable because it's an example of a team that was in the conference finals last year, started off this year pretty damn slow, and now have worked their way out of it without making any major trades or coaching changes.

I'm just pointing to them as a hopeful sign for those of you that think Finch and Co. can grind and tinker their way out of our mediocrity without any deadline trades, etc.

Then you have Sacramento, where a coaching change seemingly jolted them into relevance! This is what makes the NBA interesting! Which path should the Wolves take?

(people tend to forget who the 4th team was in the NBA version of the "Final Four" last season because the NBA glitterati would rather fawn over the Knicks and pretend they were this close to getting to the NBA Finals last year).
