Julius would go to Detroit with Alex Len and their pick back. Jaden, Dilly and Tobias would go to Sac. I feel like Sac would be really enticed by that.

Would Foxy and Ant be it?

Fox/Mike
Ant/DDV
NAW/TJ
NAZ/Minott/Lyles
Rudy/Garza
I wouldn’t do that deal. But can we even do it under the CBA as a 2nd apron team. I thought we’re prohibited from aggregating players and in this instance we’d be sending to players to the same team. I could be wrong. In any event, it’s an interesting idea.
Yeah, it can't be done. The ESPN trade machine does not take into account apron restrictions. However, the spotrac trade machine does.
I actually ran this in spotrac, cmon Tim I'm no amateur! The trade gets the Wolves under the 2nd apron.

Randle would likely go to Miami fox to us butler to the other team and they would give something and we would give them and donte and Conley and maybe a 1st if necessary. Divo is on a great contract and Sacramento would get some more quality pieces from team getting butler. I think it could work.
It's possible I guess but historically the team that acquires a young star pays up. That would be an heist.

Why exactly is Sacramento trading Fox anyways? He's 27. Also do they really want a bunch of draft picks or an established player like Jaden.

A trade I got to work was Randle and Len and Colby Jones to Detroit

We would get Fox and McDermott and McLaughlin

Sacramento gets Tobias Harris and Jaden McDaniels and we throw in the detroit 1st. Seems like they Sacramento could move Harris maybe. Detroit maybe could add in some draft capital too as Randle is the better player between Harris and they could likely move Randle in a trade with Miami.

Fox said he's not going to re-sign with them, so they have no choice but to try to get what they can for him.

Exactly. And while Fox would be eligible for the supermax (35% of cap) only if he stayed in SAC, the fact that recent All Star voting results indicate he isn’t likely even an to be All Star, seems to indicate that he won’t make All NBA and qualify for that supermax. Any team can give him the 30% vet max, so I think this is why we see him signaling he wants to be traded now.

Here’s my blockbuster. Brace yourself.

MIN GETS: Jordan MacLaughlin + Alex Len

SAC GETS: 2026 2nd (worst of IND, MIA, SA) + Luka Garza + Joe Ingles

Why for MIN? I would out the odds of Connelly doing an Randle trade at only 20%. He’s playing better, more motivated ball as a point forward with the second unit. With little left to trade and apron restriction making TPE’s useless, I went with vet min players. JMac and Len provide emergency back ups in case Conley or Gobert miss time. JMac already knows most of the team and Finch’s system, so there’s no ramp up time.

Why for SAC? Squeezing out a 2nd round pick out for a couple vet min signings is just good GMing. If the Fox deal brings back Castle, with Monk and Devin Carter also available for PG minutes, they don’t need JMac, and Len is just .. Len. Maybe Garza can help his college buddy Keegan Murray get his mojo back.

Notes: Garza has a no-trade clause, but warmer SAC may offer more opportunity. MIN is over the apron, but it’s legal to swap vet min deals regardless of years of service because they all have the same 2-year vet cap hit.

Four vet min deals. Like I said, blockbuster.

I absolutely love the idea of adding JMac to our PG depth, for the reasons you stated. I am not a fan of Len, but I agree that depth behind Rudy is really bad. If not addressed at the trade deadline, I wonder if TC would pick up a big off the FA market that is trying to work his way back into the league. For example, Okafor and Kaminsky are both playing in the G-League, looking for an opportunity.

However, I think you are under estimating the locker room / bench value that Ingles brings to the team. I would kinda hate to lose that...

I don’t have a way of assessing Ingles off court value, so you could be right.

I’m not a fan of Len either, but he is a legitimate NBA vet center with size, and likely better than anyone we could find in an extremely-picked over group of remaining free agent centers. Maybe the trade deadline will free some up. We do have a 15th roster spot, but using it would be expensive with the additional lux taxes. If any team likes Len better than their own free agent center, I’d consider a three-way.
