Did you guys listen to any of Clark's postgame comments? He's an interesting guy...deep thinker like NAW. But my favorite thing he said was about TJ. He said he was really the only player he had a problem guarding in college. I looked at the box score in Clark's final year, and I can see why...TJ scored 29 points on only 13 shots and was 8 for 9 on three-pointers! But Clark's comment is a twofer for us. Not only is he confidently saying he can guard almost anyone, he's also saying TJ is a great offensive player. What could be better!

I love Clark. I am super excited to see when Clark starts going through his shooting slump because all players go through it. Right now he is hitting everything from deep but what happens to his confidence when that shot stops falling does he struggle in other aspects. I am excited to find out.

Also its so mind blowing what a week can do for a player. If Donte does not get hurt, Shannon does not get hurt, Minott does not screw up a defensive assignment, Clark gets no playing time and his words "probably back in Iowa". Clark in this week has all but guaranteed himself a 4 year contract and has the potential to make millions of dollars in his career. Where if somethings don't turn out well there is a legit shot he is out of the league soon.

I love those butterfly effect moments. Off topic but one of my favorite butterfly moments in the NFL is a player named Josie Jewell he is a LB for the Panthers currently. He is from the hometown where I went to college in for D3 football. His brother played at the school I went to, and we are dogshit at football. 5-56 since in the last 7 years. Josie was going to go play D3 football but on national signing day was offered by Iowa. Went to Iowa won scout squad MVP for Iowa, then ended up starting Iowa for multiple years and then was drafted by the broncos and has a legit chance of being a 10 year vet. And to think he would have been playing on one of the worst D3 football organizations if not offered that last day.

I love those butterfly effect moments. I hope Clark runs with his moment like he is because these moments are what make sports so much fun and it would be so huge long term for the wolves if the becomes a legit rotation piece.

Cool anecdote re: Josie Jewell. Hopefully he stays healthy!

Clark actually had a few 4+ 3-point games in Iowa followed by some real stinkers, so he has already been through some ups and downs in his 20 games there. Hopefully that gives him the resiliency to not totally lose his confidence when things go badly. NAW wouldn't be a bad guy to consult on that front, LOL!

Like I said earlier, I don't even think we've seen him hit his stride yet defensively. He can be extremely disruptive as an off ball defender too, but I think he's playing a bit more conservatively and getting used to the size and speed of NBA players.

A couple takeaways from this game.

Much has been said about Dillingham’s size. I was surprised how small I thought Reid Shepard looked.

Clark really showing something and nice to see TSJ get some opportunities as well.

It would be nice if one of the young/lesser used bigs would show something. At this point I think McDaniels might end up playing some of those minutes with Clark showing he can play and now that he is healthy I think TSJ is gonna get some run.

Dillingham didn’t have a good first half but followed that up with getting some buckets in the 2nd.

That’s a fair comparison, but I think Clark is potentially, and likely will be, a lot more than Pat Bev. I think he can be special if he continues to develop his offensive game.
Thats a lot of offense to go but I like the optimism.

I don't know Doper....Beverley averaged a little over 11 points per 36 minutes in his career (may be closer to 12 or 13 during his peak), so he was never much of a scorer either. But he could make the open 3, which made him an outstanding 3 & D guard.

In Clark's last year at UCLA he average a bit over 15 points per 36 minutes and he averaged nearly exactly the same in his 20 games in Iowa earlier this season. So far he's averaging 14.9 points per 36 for the Wolves, so he has been remarkably consistent in terms of his usage and scoring.

Assuming Clark isn't just a flash in the pan and can continue growing into his role, he is almost the PERFECT guard/wing compliment to Ant and Dillingham because his defense, cutting, and stationary shooting means he doesn't need the ball in his hands to be effective.

I think Marcus Smart might be the better comparison and potentially the ceiling for Clark. As a 53rd pick you’d take that any day of the week.

I'll take any of these. I think Clark has potential to play some sort of PG role but I think it's far from certain he could even be a Pat Bev level of PG. I'd be happy with a KCP level of passing/playmaking.

In terms of scoring one of the things about Clark in college is he had a bit of a post game so it's possible he will have some touch when he gets into the paint.
