Wolves can double dip on Sunday. Win and improve their pick.

And with the Pistons win, the Wolves are guaranteed the pick. Not bad for a pick that was overlooked/ridiculed at the time of the trade.

If the season ended today, we’d have the 17th pick (from Detroit) and the first pick in the second round (from Utah). Those will be valuable assets on draft day. I just hope they don’t squander them in some sort of deal for Kevin Durant.

Kings beat Detroit. The pick is very close to locking in at 17. That's damn good. 8-)

I don't want to acquire Durant (not totally against it) but if Connelly through various dealings ended up with assets that actually helped him acquire Durant...I think it could deserve some props.

I'll add that IMHO Danny Ainge looks like a dumbass for that Utah Wolves Lakers deal. They are gonna get a good pick this year and have a plenty of picks anyway but only getting a Lakers first in 2027 doesn't exactly look too exciting right now especially considering what they gave up to get it. They could still end up with a worthwhile pick though so time will tell but Connelly did very well in that deal.

JT Toppin heading back to school for another year. Not someone we would have taken at 17, but maybe at 31 or at least could have been taken before us and slid another player to us.
