That’s what I recall as well. Some good stats, Monster. Thanks.Monster wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 8:46 pmYeah Finch more stated some specifics he could work on and I took that partly as him knowing when to play make and when to score. That's usually the toughest thing for a guy to do who has legit talent to get a bucket. Finch also said something like his 3 point shot was too loose or something like that. Looking back at his shooting on BB reference he actually shot a very good 73% 3 feet and in. The 2nd most shots he took were 3-10 feet which isn't a positive but he shot just over 40% which isn't a disaster especially for a smaller rookie guard. He shot over 46% on 10-16 feet and then shot bad on 16 out to the 3 but that was literally just a couple of shots which is fine I'd prefer most guys don't take those long 2's.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 8:30 pmFinch praised Dillingham’s toughness and defensive improvement. I wouldn’t say he criticized Dilly’s offense. He mentioned that he’s like to see Rob focus more on making plays for his teammates. But he also said the following: “He does things not a lot of other people do - he can create easy shots for others and himself.” You might recall TC saying after last year’s draft that they actually were more impressed with Dilly’s playmaking in college than in his scoring. I think they traded up to #8 for Dilly precisely because of his ability to create shots for himself and others off the dribble. That’s what impressed them the most coming out of college and that’s apparently what TC still sees in him. Now it’s just a matter of having the patience with Dilly that other GMs did not have with the likes of Haliburton and SGA. The fact that TC praised Dilly’s toughness and defense strikes me as a huge bonus.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 6:05 pm
Finch yearns for someone that can organize the offense AND create shots for himself and others off the bounce, but we've had one sub-optimal option after another during his tenure. Guys like Rubio, Conley, Kyle Anderson and Jordan McLaughlin could do the former, but not the latter. Guys like Nowell could do the latter but not the former....and then eventually couldn't do the latter either.
Randle and DLO are probably the closest Finch has had to combining the two things, but they have other holes in their game that are tough to overcome.
As for Dillingham, Finch praised him for his defense, but criticized his offense.
Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?

Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
A couple of trades I wouldn't mind:
Move up in the 10-12 range by packaging 17 and 31 straight up.
This looks like a good spot to be in this draft for that handful of Bigs who are kind of in the same cluster potential wise. Trust that TC picks the right onw.
Move up to 13 or 14 by packaging 17 and 31 where Atlanta gives back 13 and a future 2nd, or Spurs give back 14 and 38 or a future 2nd.
I want to hop OKC quite a bit and steal what Presti wants, hah.
Move back/up simultaneously with Brooklyn. 17 and 31 for 19 and 27. It seems there may be a handful of second tier C's picked at the end of the first, so I'd prefer to get ahead of Boston and Phoenix who both likely look for one.
Trade for the future. Ship off 17 for a future first and 2nd(s). Take a flyer on someone at 31 and focus on finding out what the Wolves currently have for young talent in Dillingham, TSJ, Clark, Miller, Minott, 31.

Darren Wolfson
@DWolfsonKSTP
Hear that Sorber has visited the #Timberwolves. More you hear about him six days out, the more there is to like. Super intriguing big. Said to be doing well following left foot surgery in late Feb. #WolvesBack

I see Rasheed Fleming is not among the 24 green room invites. He could drop a ways.
Sorber would be a terrific pick, and see who might drop to 31.

Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
Does anyone know if the Wolves have worked out Cedric Coward? Just watch the Thunder snatch him up
Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
It is my understanding that Randle can exercise his option anytime between now and June 29, 5pm ET. Is this correct? Essentially any Durant trade that occurs before Randle accepts or rejects the option, would have to include Rudy. I cannot see any KD trade that I like that includes Rudy, so hopefully there is no KD trade unless it comes after Randle exercises his option and includes him. Now, Randle's option might complicate the draft as we may not know if we'll get a KD trade with Randle as the main salary going out and so unless we have a handshake deal that involves a two track trade in place (one involving Randle and another involving Gobert) depending on whether Randle resigns, the Wolves might not now on draft day if they are picking for the Suns or themselves.
So if there is no KD trade announced by draft day, no Randle option exercise by draft day, will we even know on draft day whether the Wolves are drafting for themselves or another team?

Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
I really like Cedric Coward. Worked his way up from nothing at low level schools to potential lottery. A +8 wingspan is kind of nuts. I'd prefer him to many of the C prospects people are talking about. That is a big reason I hope the Wolves jump ahead of OKC. Coward and CMB could pay great dividends at 10-14.
Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
I suspect a KD deal that includes Randle is likely tied to Randle signing an extension. It’s up to Randle to decide whether he wants to exercise his one-year option. If he wants to become a free agent that’s his choice. Randle’s been clear that at this point in his career he’s all about winning. If he’s true to his word, I don’t know why he’d agree to a sign-and trade extension or opt in for one year knowing the Wolves will trade him to the Suns. The Suns didn’t make the play-in tournament last season with Booker playing 75 games and averaging 25.6 points. Replacing KD with Julius, Donte and Dilly doesn’t seem like a ticket from the lottery to the NBA Finals and Randle’s smart enough to know that.KG4Ever wrote: ↑Sat Jun 21, 2025 7:55 pm It is my understanding that Randle can exercise his option anytime between now and June 29, 5pm ET. If we believe reports that an offer including Randle has already been made, I suspect there’s a third team where Randle would go and it would likely be a competitive playoff team. Otherwise, maybe it’s Rudy and not Randle.
Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
Just to be clear, it doesn’t matter if the trade includes Julius or Rudy, it cannot happen before July 1st. That’s because the Wolves are a 2nd apron team right now, and that does not change until July 31st.
The teams can agree to a trade now, but cannot execute it until July 31st. I would expect Randle to be part of the negotiating process if he is to be included in the trade.

Re: Bored Silly - How About The Draft?!?
Yep. That’s my understanding of the timing. For all we know the deal is done and being kept under raps. It just seems odd to me that Julius would agree to go to the Suns; hence my view that there’s a 3rd team if he’s included in the deal.60WinTim wrote: ↑Sat Jun 21, 2025 10:19 pm Just to be clear, it doesn’t matter if the trade includes Julius or Rudy, it cannot happen before July 1st.
