Rudy and Mike are past their prime. Naz still can't play D and is overpaid. I don' t hate DDV but he's a role player. Dilly was a huge miss by TC. TSJ is old rookie and not anything special. Beringer might be something and he should get playing time. Don't know about Lenny as he has length and is still young, but I'd like him to get some run to see if he should be kept. Bones is trash. TC has really squandered assets as he inherited Ant, Jaden and KAT and the Wolves don't have currency to make meaningful trades. TC could have had Ajay Mitchell in the second round (the pick was traded away to dump Wendell Moore who never should have been extended) Mitchell is ten times better than Dilly. So TC drafts Wendell Moore over Nembhard and trades another pick who could have been Mitchell to dump him. I had both on my radar. Sorry for the negativity, but I really don't like the direction the team has taken and Finch is not the right guy.

Abe's I nearly blew it at the very end by not posting my DVR Review:

- Just a bit of a disjointed game against a bad team of talented players.

- But I think I could have pointed out at least one mistake on most of the Wolves possessions down the stretch. Whether it was Edwards dribbling and dribbling and dribbling while McDaniels stood wide open in the corner, or the 10% chance of going in shots, or the silly TOs, or well... they're all chronicled here.

- It's much too early to worry too much. This crew has been through a lot. And there will be more to go through. Will it galvanize them or will they start to splinter. I've been really digging the "vibe" of this team. But that's through a tv screen. It really doesn't tell us much. We'll see what happens next, I guess.

But yeah, these are very bad losses that can linger.

This is pro sports.

Guys are making 10x more than the coach. Do you really think "rah rah" speeches work at this level?

Eventually, nearly every coach will wear out his welcome. Often... OFTEN... they aren't doing anything different. Often... OFTEN... it's the guys 1/2 or even 1/3 their age, some of the ones making 10x more money than the coach who just don't want to listen to him anymore.

That's pro sports.

The end of game offense is trash. Individual hero ball. Does Finch seriously endorse this? Two games in a row where we have blown leads inexcusably.

Something has to give.

The entire franchise is wrapped up in Anthony Edwards. It's his to do with it as he pleases. As long as he's scoring 40+, or even 30+, if he wants to play hero ball down the stretch of games... that's what's going to happen.

Amazing player. Fun player. But this is something he's going to have to figure out eventually.

Good points Abe. It's really unfortunate that he wasn't willing to trust his teammates down the street and now we have another game where he was brilliant for most of the game but falters at the end. This one wasn't as bad as the Suns game but it is frustrating to watch where in the earlier parts of the game he was more than willing and capable of playing great basketball - making the right play - his process was absolutely great for most of the game. So to watch him tighten up at the end and freeze his teammates out was disappointing.

That said this a lesson most all young superstars need to learn on the path to something more. It's up to him if he's going to be a superstar or a legend

It didn't matter if it was Donte, Mike, or TSJ out there, Sacramento hunted them and ran pick and roll until they got them on Derozan. Once they were on Derozan, he took them to school. We don't do the same at all. Derozan did it over and over, Reaves and Collin did it to beat us at the buzzer in the Lakers and Suns games. Last night Cade in the clutch, dribbles it on the top of the key the same as Ant always does, but Indiana runs a screen gets new guy on Cade, runs another screen until they get Mathurin on Cade and he takes him to the basket one on one. Next play exact same thing until they got Mathurin on Cade. We also really miss NAW.

It's on TC to make another NAW. It's the tough part of the job but that's what he gets paid to identify and for Finch to develop. Clark is a nice story, but let's also be real, the rest of TC's record has been spotty at best.

This is so god damn frustrating!!!!! Why can't they hunt matchups and why do they also just hand opponents the matchup they want, why?!

They're just like, "oh want to go 1 on 1 against TJ? Sure go ahead, please be my guest"

It’s time for a torch passing to our version of Phil Jackson who imposes an offensive structure that harnesses our star player’s individual talent to better help the team. Not the Kurt Rambis triangle of course. 🙂. But something. Move the ball!!!!
