Some big-game hunting tonight! Nuggets fall to the Mavs. Rockets might just fall to the Jazz. And the Lakers are down to the Suns at the half, although a Suns loss would be okay as well.

Consider big game hunted, with the heads of Denver, Houston, and Lakers all mounted on the walls of the victors! Wow.

Then there is OKC....

The Suns lost Booker to a groin injury after 10 minutes of play. But Dillon Brooks was PHENOMENAL and the Suns won anyway. But losing Booker for any stretch might slow down those Suns...

Rookie Ryan Nembhard is the first point guard in NBA history to have 25 points, 10 assists, 0 turnovers and a 100% TS

I wanted us to take a flyer on him so badly in the late 2nd round of this past draft, or wished we would have picked him up as an undrafted player. Having not been drafted he is fighting for his place in the league, and highly motivated. The reason he wasn't draft was because of his height, as he might be a bit shorter than Rob. Rob needs to have that same fight to his game, fight for your spot in this league.

Yeah, not sure who on that team is equipped to pick up the offensive slack from Booker. Dillon Brooks isn't going to replicate that performance again! Glad he did that against the Lakers and he let them know about it!

Josh Minott had a nice game tonight in the Celtics win over the Knicks. He had 11 points, 6 rebounds and a block in 27 minutes. Overall, he was a +12. He’s had some good games and some bad ones but overall he’s been good and he will undoubtedly get better. It takes patience to develop young players. Sometimes they pan out and sometimes they don’t but you don’t know until you test them in extended minutes over time.

For the Wolves, Clark is looking more and more like someone who’s going to pan out. Shannon is struggling, which is a big surprise. Dillingham hasn’t had the minutes for us to know what we can eventually expect from him or when. I’ll just say again that Mike Conley’s 13 minutes tonight could not have been worse if allocated to Dillingham. On the other hand, I recognize there’s a trust factor that goes into deciding between Mike and Dilly in a close game like tonight’s while this team is competing for playoff position and potentially a title.

Chris Paul cut. Think you should consider if you are the Timberwolves

Good for Nembhard. There is something to be said for some of these undrafted guys that need to fight for their spot in the league. Naz Reid!

Zyon Pullin has to be a guy the Wolves keep a very close eye on. I can't possibly imagine him being worse than Dillingham right now as the 10th man. In fact, from a pure developmental perspective, Dillingham should spend an entire season in the G-League as a lead guard getting his confidence back against lesser competition. Him being drafted as a lottery pick probably prevent that from happening until he's nearly out of the league like Killian Hayes. On the other hand, the G-League looks too easy for Pullin right now.

It's an intriguing thought, kek. Paul played all 82 games last season, and averaged 7.4 assists and 1.6 turnovers, while only taking 7 shots. On its face, it seems like exactly what this team needs.

But then again, he's 40. And it would put DiVo on the bench. I think I lean slightly against, but just slightly.

Would you see him as pure insurance or as replacing someone in the current rotation? I think Mike Conley is fine right now in the more limited role Finch has him in (versus starting) and I don't see Paul as an upgrade there. He'd certainly be better than Dillingham, but why would he sign here to be the 3rd string PG behind Ant and Conley?

And I hope after last night we can put a nail in the coffin of "DDV is the starting PG" narrative that's I've heard and seen from other Wolves followers and pundits (not here so much). Ant is the starting PG. Period. Point Ant is no longer a notion, but the reality, for better or worse.
