Thank god! Atlanta is desperate to move Trae, so I can understand why they may think they have to attach draft capital to get someone to take him off their hands. The strongest rumor I've heard is that he is going to Washington in a deal centered around McCollum's expiring contract. Wow...
Sigh. Behold the Washington Wizards. Here is an Eastern Conference team that seemingly NEVER makes a big move to pull legit talent away from the Western Conference and just stays on the losing treadmill year after year, but now they want to make a big deal!?! For Trae Young!?
The Wizards just unloaded Jordan Poole a few months ago after two seasons with the club.

Who knew they missed him so much that they'd double down on that type of player.
Ha, and guess who else they unloaded but in this case it turned out to be a very unwise move? Deni Avdija. That dude is flat out balling for Portland. I always find it interesting when a guy five or six seasons into his career suddenly takes a big leap into borderline all-star caliber production. He's averaging 26, 7, and 7 with decent shooting! And FNG may faint when he sees his net on/off rating.

Very true! I have mixed views on Gafford. I know he always has dunked all over the Wolves, so I feel like we may have a somewhat inflated view of him. Yet he never seems to earn more than about 20 MPG and I don't think his defense is as good as some of his thunderous blocks make it seem. I also think Sarr could be really good eventually. Hopefully the Wizards don't trade him to the Lakers for Dalton Knecht!

Okay, took the bait and checked out Deni's on/off. He's always been okay by this measure but this year he's a monster...+14, best by far on the Blazers and better than anyone on the Wolves! He's been great this season.

In other news, Ant's very good game against the Wizards widened the on/off gap between him and Rob. He's still dead last among our 9 rotation players but not too far behind Mike...I don't think anyone wanted to see him drop below Rob!

Good thing he makes up for it in the clutch, where he is the best clutch shooter in the league so far.

And that matches my eye test, Rap…he’s been unbelievable in the clutch this season. That’s one of several areas he’s improved on offense. I’m not alone though in thinking his defense has gone significantly in the opposite direction. But as I said earlier, the silver lining is he turns up the defensive level in the postseason. Gives me some hope for a deep run this season.

FNG, You also have to remember that the On/Off stat is just as much a reflection of a team's bench and lineup combinations while whoever you are assessing using that stat is sitting.

It's actually a GOOD thing if Minnesota doesn't fall apart at the seams whenever Ant sits. It's not a good thing that Portland falls apart whenever Deni sits (they have a -12 net rating when he's on the bench). It's not a good thing that Denver is -5 when Jokic sits.

That terrific On/Off rating for Deni says more about the rest of the team than it does him. And when Deni is on the court, Portland eeks out a positive net rating of barely a few tenths of a point.

Thank God Chris Finch doesn't rely on that stat the way you do, otherwise Ant would be sitting in all these 4th quarters that he's helped win for us with his clutch shooting and defense!

Timberwolves on off leaders since the 09-10 season
09-10: Darko Milicic 12.3
10-11: Anthony Tolliver 8.5
11-12: Kevin Love 8.6
12-13: Malcom Lee 9.6
13-14: Ricky Rubio 12.2
14-15: Ricky Rubio 11.1
15-16: Ricky Rubio 12.6
16-17: Ricky Rubio 5.8
17-18: Jimmy Butler 13.5
18-19: Luol Deng 16.3
19-20: Dlo 8.8
20-21: Kat 10.6
21-22: Nate Knight 6.4
22-23: Mike Conley 8.2
23-24: TJ Warren 12.9
24-25: Naz Reid 6.8
25-26: Donte 11.9

So according to FNG the top 5 players in the last 15 years for the wolves are:
1. Loul Deng
2. Jimmy Butler
3. TJ Warren
4. Ricky Rubio
5. Darko Milic

My favorite person on this list is Dlo because I know FNG hates watching Dlo play. CAM WAS RIGHT!!!

This is not a post to be an A-Hole to you FNG just pointing out the massive flaws in the stat that you bring up a ton. Not saying On/Off is a useless stat you just use it way to much to determine if you think the player is good or not without using context around those numbers.

Michael Scotto has listed the Bucks, Wolves, and Clippers are teams that have monitored Trae Young.

This should be no surprise as we have discussed many times that TC touches base on everyone.

It still seems highly unlikely unless they can figure out a way to shore up the front court in the process.

Step 1 - Pick random NBA player name out of a hat.

Step 2 - NBA journalist writes that the TWolves are "monitoring" or have "shown interest" in that player.

Step 3 - Nothing happens.

Step 4 - Go back to Step 1.
