Let's speculate on who might get first half minutes.
For me, I'd love to see Johnny Jhuzang get some run. He looks passable and works hard on defense, we need more ball handling and ball movement tonight, and he can shoot. Let's see what he can do

I've been thinking the same thing, Tim...it bothers me that "intention" is not considered. I'm not blaming the refs, because they made the correct call in accordance with the rule...I'm blaming the rule. I understand that intention is difficult to assess, but I think any reasonable person would conclude that there was no intention in this case. Shit happens in sports, and this rule should be changed.60WinTim wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 8:06 amNo. It is very punitive! It's another 1 game suspension if he hits 7 points. After that, every flagrant foul is a two game suspension. And they say it does not reset for the playoffs.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 7:49 am I have looked briefly but I can not find the info on the rest of season consequences for accumulating flagrant points. Does the counter rest after Rudy’s suspension and he needs 6 more points for a second suspension?
It's tough, because just like the flagrant foul against Wemby, Rudy had no "intention" of getting under his feet -- it was accidental. So, it could happen again no matter how careful Rudy is. The Wolves need to develop a back up plan for if, or when, Rudy gets another suspension. I don't know if that is Joan, or acquiring another backup C, or just figuring out how to play without Rudy (which hasn't been very good this year).
Tonight is a test of what the "do nothing" plan looks like...
Re: Ant and Rudy Out vs Bucks GDT
Before the season began we had some discussion about who would be the next big up when Rudy had to miss a game. Most of the support was for Joan, but I made a case for Miller. With Rudy and Ant out, we are going to lack scoring, rebounding and defense. From what I have seen from Joan and Miller in NBA action, neither one is going to come close to making up for Rudy on defense. But based strictly on G League action (which arguably might be more significant than NBA garbage time), Miller has been far more productive in scoring and rebounding than Joan...Tim or Q could probably provide the per 36 stats. Finchy might be looking at this as a likely loss and a good opportunity to see what Rob and Joan can do in extended minutes. But if he wants to win this game, I would be more inclined to go with a big man rotation of Ju, Naz and Miller.

I've seen conflicting reports on flagrant foul points resetting for the playoffs but Jonny K confirmed the points do reset. He would miss game 1 and maybe 2 in the first round if he were to get a flagrant in game 82, however.

Let's have our seeding wrapped up before game 82 this year, and rest Rudy and Ant.

Yeah, I stand corrected. The flagrant foul points reset for the playoffs.

Leonard Miller is indeed the superior rebounder and scorer as compared to Beringer. The problem with Miller is similar to the problem with Shannon in my opinion. What exactly is his role when he plays?FNG wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 9:30 am Before the season began we had some discussion about who would be the next big up when Rudy had to miss a game. Clark - Point of attack defense
Naz - Stretch big, scorer
Conley - Game management and execution
Bones - Secure play maker and shot maker.
Dillingham - Same role as Bones but sucks at it.
Shannon - ???
Miller - ???
Beringer - Rim protection and pick and roll finisher
Juzhang - Shooter
When the role isn't clear for guys playing on a mature, really good team then they end up not doing much of anything all that well.
Re: Ant and Rudy Out vs Bucks GDT
I hear what you're saying, Q, and that has a lot do why a guy who has been so productive in the G League can't get on the court in the NBA. But tonight with Ant and Rudy out, we have to replace a lot of points and rebounds. Miller gives us a better chance to win than Joan I think. Finchy doesn't seem to like him though, so it's more likely Joan gets the minutes.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Jan 13, 2026 11:47 amLeonard Miller is indeed the superior rebounder and scorer as compared to Beringer. I haven’t seen the starting lineup, yet, but Finch said Joan will be part of the rotation tonight. I have very low expectations. I suspect he will make very little impact, just like his first game in the G-league. But he’s gotta start somewhere!!
My guess is that Mike and NAZ will be starting tonight.
