With that Phoenix passes them up, sliding Houston down to 7th. Jalen Green really hasn't played, Brooks doing a lot of work for the Suns from that trade.
I really thought Houston was going to be good this year, so their recent poor play has surprised me. Similarly I'm surprised at how well the Suns are playing...they (and the Clippers!) are the hottest teams in the Association. Booker has been terrific as has Gillespie. As for Jalen Green, I've always viewed him as being in the mold of a Trae, Ja or Zach...exciting players who don't make their team better. I think the Suns are better off without him.

It's amazing how getting rid of some high-priced/high-maintenance guys that don't quite fit together (Beal, Durant, Ayton a couple years earlier) and bringing in some smart, gritty workers like Gillespie can make a huge difference. No one should be shocked that Gillespie came from Villanova when Jay Wright was still coaching there.

Yep. Gillespie was a freshman with Brunson, Bridges, Divencenzo, et al on that title team. I thought he had leveled off in college (5 years) and was one of those good college players but clearly not ready for the athleticism jump in the pros.

I was wrong.

The Kings, now the King killer, defeat the Lakers after defeating the Rockets the night before.

The extra losses by the teams around us in the standings is good, since the Wolves are about to embark on a pretty tough road trip.

Good! Didn't really think we were that interested anyway, but TC is seemingly always working the phones.

Denver won again without Jokic and Houston eeked it out against Chicago. At least Phoenix lost to Miami.

I just want breathing room from the play-in line and then let the chips fall where they may among the top six. We're currently 2.5 games clear of it.

KAT is really being ripped in NY for his effort in the Knicks loss to the Kings last night.

I’m not missing the stray voltage…

Yeah, KAT has fallen off a bit this year....47% FG and 35% 3PT% is not very good by his standards. So he's playing worse AND still has all the same issues he had while in Minnesota.

KAT with 5 fouls in 25 minutes. Looks like the Brunson-less Knicks will lose at the Warriors.

I don’t know if the Hornets will hang on, but it’s fun seeing them give the Lakers all they can handle!
