FNG wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 9:06 am I'm as excited as anyone here (except maybe Tim) about SloMo coming back...love to watch his unusual style of play. Plus the move was very popular in our locker room...I think bringing back Mike and SloMo was as much to keep guys like Ant happy as it was to provide real value on the court.

I see one potential issue though. Both guys still think they can still play and provide value, but I don't think either will be satisfied with the minutes given to him. It won't be a problem with Mike, but Kyle is a fiery guy as we know, and he may not be happy. I don't see him being comfortable accepting an Ingles/Conley role. We'll have to see what happens.
Really?!? I think Kyle is going to have a SIGNIFICANT role! How does his role differ from his first two years here playing alongside KAT, Rudy and NAZ? Now it's Julius, Rudy and NAZ. Donte has taken over the Conley role. Ayo takes over the NAW role. Let's Rock and Roll!
We'll have to see, Tim. There's no question that Kyle was a valuable member of our rotation two years ago, but Mike was a valuable member of our rotation just 9 months ago! Kyle is 6 years younger than Mike, but we also know players hit the age wall at different times. Kyle's unimpressive stats since he left the Wolves might be an indication that he has hit that wall, just like it appears Mike has. They are both pros though, so I wouldn't be shocked if either or both of them ended up playing important minutes the rest of the season.
Anderson has played less but his numbers are not far off what he was doing with the Wolves a couple seasons ago. I don't see any sort of drastic dropoff for him it's just that teams either didn't need to utilize his game.

Like other people have said the Wolves depth has improved quite a bit over the past few weeks. We went from having guys that. Never played or were clearly not trusted to guys that are better and more trusted and more experience. Let's compare

Dillingham Ayo
Miller Phillips
Empty roster space Kyle Anderson.

Quite frankly you could argue Kyle Anderson is better than any of the guys the Wolves let go this month including Conley. There is only one player with less experience than Phillips on the NBA roster and that's Beringer. Idk if this team will get it together the next few weeks but the talent level is clearly higher and Finch has more levelers to pull than he did a few weeks ago.

It will be interesting to see what role Anderson plays. Will he resign next season and take on the trusted vet role sorta like Conley and Conley takes the Joe Ingles spot as trusted vet leader who could play if you really had to?

Overall the Wolves now have sole real completion for playing time behind the obvious players. If you don't seize your chance someone might take your minutes but if that guy doesn't do something with his chance...there are options. I would not be surprised if Anderson gets some minutes on a semi regular basis. Like others have said he might be a guy that could be an upgrade over Conley at times. That could be pretty helpful.

I think Slo-mo's heart wasn't in those teams. I think he will be happy here and play what time he is given. Player know when the sun is setting on them, so IMO he will play his heart out knowing this is his last stop.

I don't think he he had a choice as those teams often didn't want to play him. Again his stats were just fine when he played which is a good sign because some guys don't play well when given a lesser and sometime intermittent role. Anderson is pretty competitive but also smart so I'm not worried about what role he will be given he is gonna be ready when given an opportunity. Also somewhat hilariously Memphis bought out Anderson and signed Taj Gibson.

Yeah, I saw that. I thought Taj was done. Guess not.

Randle is questionable tomorrow with bask spasms.

I wonder if SloMo will be available?

Feels like Randle needs a break, so I hope he sits, although Jokic requires a lot of big bodies thrown at him. I could absolutely see SloMo getting a few minutes.

I think it would be nice to give Randle a bit of a break and Anderson in theory should be able to play some minutes without a drastic dropoff. Even if Anderson has dropped off a little on defense he would be nice to have in the lineup that was one of his big values when he was with the team last time.

Dane had some compelling numbers on a recent pod about Kyle being the linchpin to the Wolves Rudy off defense in his last stint. If he can help reprise some of that, this team could really have something.

The SloMo signing is official. He'll wear #12. He now holds a Timberwolves record: only player to garner three different uniform numbers.

On another note, Tyus Jones signs with Denver. They really wanted SloMo or Middleton. But Middleton decided to stay in Dallas, and SloMo came back home.
