The Wolves have the top rated defense in the league over the last 5 games.

I'm trying to think what might be different in the past 5 games, but I can't think of any factors that might have improved our defenseCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 2:55 pm The Wolves have the top rated defense in the league over the last 5 games.
(I guess in the in the interest of balance, someone should post our offensive rank the past 5 games)

How about this: since the LAC debacle the Wolves have the 2nd best Defensive rating and the 23rd best offensive rating.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 3:02 pmI'm trying to think what might be different in the past 5 games, but I can't think of any factors that might have improved our defenseCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 2:55 pm The Wolves have the top rated defense in the league over the last 5 games..

Fwiw, I do think Ant will totally buy in when he comes back. We'll see what that bears out results wise, but I do think he'll be pretty onboard with the defensive intensity, moving the ball and running the floor. At least for the most part

His defense might show up, but I think we go back to half court offense when he's out there.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 3:12 pmHow about this: since the LAC debacle the Wolves have the 2nd best Defensive rating and the 23rd best offensive rating.FNG wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 3:02 pmI'm trying to think what might be different in the past 5 games, but I can't think of any factors that might have improved our defenseCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 2:55 pm The Wolves have the top rated defense in the league over the last 5 games..

That might not be for the worse overall, as I noted, they're down to 23rd on offense over the last 7 games and that has been largely due to being unable to score in the half court at all. So they'll definitely slow down some but I wouldn't be surprised to see Ant with a little more juice up the court.Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 3:17 pmHis defense might show up, but I think we go back to half court offense when he's out there.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Thu Mar 26, 2026 3:12 pmHow about this: since the LAC debacle the Wolves have the 2nd best Defensive rating and the 23rd best offensive rating.

I know you're skeptical about that and I don't blame you, but think of last night- on several possession Mike sprint up the court with the ball after a Houston make. So not even after a TO or rebound but after taking the ball out the net and he's sprinting up the floor to initiate the offense.
Mike has been playing deliberate, half court offense for 18 years, but got the memo when he was back in the rotation. There is clearly a team wide memo, so Ant will be getting that and he also has a tremendous amount of respect for Conley and I think he'll listen.
Will he maintain that focus and habit, is the question.
