Not sure where to put this though but I'm so sick of watching star players deteriorate by the the time they get to the playoffs.
The Dante achilles is rough and it's part of a systemic problem facing the league right now.

82 games is way too long, and they're punishing players and teams for resting players too much. It won't happen but if it were up to me players would strike for less games

Less games equals less money, less ad revenue, less initial money in TV deals, less ticket sales. meaning less revenue for the league meaning the cap goes down and so does the players money

That's why it's not going to happen.

The NBA has had an 82-game season for 60 years, but the number of serious injuries is much higher than it used to be...doesn't seem to me like the length of the season has much to do with it. I don't have the answer, but if I had to guess, I would attribute the increase in injuries to today's players just being much bigger, faster and more athletic than they used to be. That combination puts a lot more strain on the body. I don't think there is anything we can do about it...injuries are going to remain a big part of the game.

But a deteriorating product is also bad for business, and then there is the human element. Humans can only go so far right? That's why people fought for a 40 hour work week.

Less games will obviously be impactful in reducing injuries, it's ridiculous to suggest otherwise. Of course there is a balance that has to be struck, injuries are a part of life, much less just sports. However, that doesn't mean these guys have to be fed into the wood chipper.

I agree with you, it would be great to have a 65 game season but it will never happen because of the money aspect

I agree with you, it would be great to have a 65 game season but it will never happen because of the money aspect

I don't agree that it won't happen. It might not happen exactly as you say, 65 games or whatever, but the league is on a crash course towards a reckoning on this matter

Yeah, I was watching that first half feeling like the Spurs aren't so great afterall. Total domination in the 2nd half. The thing that was interesting is that the Blazers always had either Clingan or Time Lord in the game, neither of whom actually guarded Wemby all that much. So why not just go Center-less and play 5-out ball to get Wemby the hell out of the lane when the Spurs are on defense? He is a one-man wrecking crew when allowed to rome in the paint.

As we see what’s happening in the Lakers-Rockets series is there anyone who regrets not landing Kevin Durant last summer? The Lakers without Doncic are on the verge of sweeping the Rockets. The Rockets lost the first of three with Durant and lost the next two without Durant who, as always, is out with an injury. Meanwhile, the Suns are having far more success this season without Durant than last season with him. Durant wasn’t the answer for Houston and he certainly would not have been the answer for the Wolves. He was a championship caliber player once when he played with Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Donte Green in their prime the season after those three carried the Warriors to the best regular season record in NBA history. I might be a championship player playing with those three. .
