To get Giannis using Gobert and Randle, we would also have to add: pick 28, our 2033 1st unprotected or top 3 protected at best, a 2028 1st swap, Shannon Jr. That probably still isn't enough.
Think A.D trade to L.A. If i am the Bucks that is my demand. All the picks and all those high end top 5 drafted prospects or equivelant.

That trade can't be used as a measuring stick, it's a new cap environmentMnwild1128 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 9:19 pm To get Giannis using Gobert and Randle, we would also have to add: pick 28, our 2033 1st unprotected or top 3 protected at best, a 2028 1st swap, Shannon Jr. That probably still isn't enough.

Let's not forget that Giannis has a say in this matter too! If Giannis and his agent don't like Team X and won't commit to an extension with them, it makes Team X less likely to throw everything but the kitchen sink into a trade offer or perhaps not even make an offer to begin with.
Bottom line - he has the ability to potentially lower the price-tag for his services by dictating which teams he's willing to play for (fingers crossed that Minnesota is one of them!). Obviously he'd still be costly to acquire, but it may not be the astronomical price some of us think.

For someone who has done everything in his power to not be the a$$hole in this situation, it's asking a lot of him to decide to become one now. If he had that mindset he woulda been somewhere else by now. Instead this has become a drawn out soap opera because he doesn't wanna look like the bad guy.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 10:27 pm Let's not forget that Giannis has a say in this matter too! Milwaukee should just take the best deal and let Giannis become someone else's problem.

Getting the best deal is completely intertwined with the trade partner getting assurance that Giannis isn't coming on a rentalWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 10:35 pmFor someone who has done everything in his power to not be the a$$hole in this situation, it's asking a lot of him to decide to become one now. we'd have to ask the same question though. Truth is, nobody knows what the hell he wants outside of having a flight that gets him to Greece faster.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 10:47 pmGetting the best deal is completely intertwined with the trade partner getting assurance that Giannis isn't coming on a rentalWildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Sun Jun 07, 2026 10:35 pmFor someone who has done everything in his power to not be the a$$hole in this situation, it's asking a lot of him to decide to become one now. "I have not heard that Boston is on Giannis's list. I have not heard that Giannis is prepared to sign the extension with Boston,"
"Just because I haven't heard doesn't mean it's not true. But until those two things are true, I don't think it's really something that's in the world of reality." - Brian Windhorst

“The noise is tied to Miami, but there’s also some understanding that Giannis has questions about what that Miami roster would look like on the other side of the deal,” - Sam Amick

An excerpt from an article in The Athletic today by Sam Amick:
The Timberwolves, meanwhile, are also seen by some as an emerging option for the Bucks. While Antetokounmpo is known to prefer a trade involving a team in the Eastern Conference, league sources say the Bucks are interested in what Minnesota has to offer. If the Timberwolves want to get into the mix, league sources say the Bucks would want a package including Jaden McDaniels, Naz Reid, Terrence Shannon Jr. and their two tradable first-round picks (No. 29 in this year’s draft and their 2033 pick). Yet considering McDaniels’ immense value alongside Edwards as an elite perimeter defender, as well as his impressive postseason performance, team sources say Minnesota has indicated that McDaniels is off limits. Per those sources, the same goes for 19-year-old big man Joan Beringer.
Re: Giannis Trade Discussion
Interesting. That seems to leave Naz on the table. I wonder what sort of Naz-centric package would work. We’d probably have to get some tradeable assets (picks or young talent) for Randle and/or Rudy to including in the Naz package. I still don’t see a path or at least a path that wouldn’t seriously gut the team to the point where the net improvement wouldn’t be there or be enough.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 8:31 am An excerpt from an article in The Athletic today by Sam Amick:

I still think there is a path that wouldn't gut the team, but it would involve trading Rudy for the type of young talent and/or picks that Miwaukee is looking for to augment our own assets we'd offer outside of Jaden and Beringer. Do I think something like this gets done? Probably not. Is it possible though? With Tim Connelly at the helm, I think it is.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2026 9:47 amInteresting.
