That already happened. Around 2006 through like 2018. You could get like court side seats at Cub foods if you bought a rotisserie chicken. Shit didn't change. What are you even talking about?Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 5:08 pmWhy is that? The fanbase doesn't require it. If we stopped buying tickets, quit watching the games, booed at piss poor play, things would need to change. The standard is created by the fans. I blame the MN softass fanbase.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 5:03 pm….1991…championships haven’t been the standard for 35 years my guy…and looking back past that…87…and then nothing….ever…Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 5:00 pm
For not winning a championship is why someone or multiple people need to take the fall. That is what winning fanbases and organizations require.
Our standard here is not championships obviously.
Your paradigm is the problem. Maybe you should just buy Knicks merch and pretend you were right all along? If you require a championship you’re already lost.
Ayo is back!

Re: Ayo is back!
Don’t confuse my stance, I’m totally in favor of Randle going and he definitely had plenty of fault. I’m just down in TC for why he was re signed. Shouldn’t have traded for him and shouldn’t have extended him. I think Finch was the driver on bringing him in also. Addition by subtraction… I’m on board. But if we did it wrist to give Ayo that ridiculous contract, that’s what really disappoints me. I feel pretty much the same about the Ayo extension that I felt about the Randle and Naz extensions… everyone was saying what a great value they were, just like Ayo now. Anyway, there’s a lot of offseason left and Randle had to go, so it’s good to be done with that.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 9:17 pmIf you didn’t keep saying dumb shit I wouldn’t have to call you out?
The team went through a ton of coddling and taking it easy on Randle. So much so that many argued it was too much and that Randle should be traded or not resigned. But now thanks to the Ace reporting of Dloser and Wolvsefan21 we now know no that it was actually just not enough coddling. But yeah the fan base is who is soft. Understood!

Not sure what there is to get upset about with the Ayo deal. Seems pretty good actually. People confuse themselves with money when in pro sports the salary should be seen as a percentage of the total cap. We needed starting guards. We still need back up guards. Ayo was acquired for real assets and they always said they planned on resigning him. His value increased during his time here because he showed how well he fit and what he can do is something this team needs. Someone else would have paid him the mle easily. Showing your team that you value them by paying a bit over the mle makes them feel like they are a valuable team member.

If you want to place all the blame on Randle then it's all on TC for bringing him in here. And TC is at fault for Randles downfall too, because so what if he is too fragile to not handle his name being in trade talks? As TC he should know that and if he's going to put his name in talks, it better come through.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 9:05 pmYet ANOTHER disingenuous argument that finch didn’t do enough to placate and protect Randle….cant make this up.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 8:49 pmI want to blame Randle and sure he gets some of it. However, TC and FO should have known that Randle would fall apart mentally if he heard his name in trade rumors. Done more to protect him. Finch, coaches and the players should have done more to make him feel part of the team and needed. IDK. There are so many things to point to, I can't just blame Randle for all our shortcomings last year. I think our leadership sucked and that's where I would start to look.60WinTim wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 6:00 pm Randle deserves the blame for TC having to move him. He's the one that decided to "check out" after his name surfaced in a potential trade for Giannis. Randle did nothing to indicate he had any desire to stay here. So, TC was forced to oblige. I think TC has made lemonade out of those lemons. The Wolves are well positioned to become a better team than they have been the past two years.
And I don't buy this team cannot match up with OKC or San Antonio. We have a lot of great pieces. Let TC cook some more and let it roll.
And if you didn't know about Randles potential faults, then the trade was a disaster to start with. So someone other then Randle gets most of the blame to me.
So place blame on TC FInch or leadership of the players. I think it's all of the above because a fully engaged and playing well Randle and we at least had a shot last year.

Bad deal, no one was paying him what you did, nor could they. He's also not a starter, not on a contender at least. Middle of the road team, sure.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 5:39 am Not sure what there is to get upset about with the Ayo deal. Seems pretty good actually. So you have no concrete facts but just the subjective bad contract mantra. Cool. More worthless conjecture.

This doesn't appear to be true at all. The reporting is that they were definitely bidding against another team and the primary suspect is Detroit.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 7:28 amBad deal, no one was paying him what you did, nor could they. Obviously no one was paying him what Minnesota did, that's why he chose this deal. The evidence suggests, based on percentage of the cap, that this was a slight overpay of about 1 to 2 million in average value. That tax is obviously worth it so that they're not completely empty handed for a starting guard.
Ayo would be best as a 6th man in my opinion, but he can start and that matters and they still have optionality to bring in additional players.
The wolves new starting 5 had a +8.1 net rating this year. The core 4 of Ant, Naz, Jaden and Rudy were +16.6
Re: Ayo is back!
None of us have a clue what other offers he did or didn't have lol. There were a couple teams including the Bulls and Nets with space. He also could have leveraged a S&T if he wanted out. There were options for him. The fact the Ayo deal came shortly after the trade was announced indicates they were working on both deals and a trade that involved using up a chunk of those teams cap space that could have been used to nab Ayo. C'mon man, lets look at the evidence at least.Wolvesfan21 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 7:28 am Bad deal, no one was paying him what you did, nor could they. I'm not so sure that another team wasn't going that high on the AAV front. A team like CHI/BKN could have hit that mark and probably more on a shorter deal. Could be one reason MN went 5 years on it to give him legit money now while expecting the % of cap hit to go down as the cap goes up.AussieWolf3 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 24, 2026 9:21 am This doesn't appear to be true at all.
