I wonder what options Kuminga will have. The Kings don't project to have much money to spend on him. Maybe Chicago or Brooklyn. Doesn't seem like a Lakers target.

How about Ayo to detroit for Tobias Harris. I believe Detroit had interested in Ayo and Harris is a FA who was making around 26mil last season. Seems like he could take a small cut due to age and do a sign/trade.

The Kings are meeting with Jalen Duren when free agency opens in hopes of a sign and trade. Interesting.

well that can't happen now and any sign & trade destroys every other trade we're trying to do.

The silver lining is Ayo should be quite tradeable in the future if the need arises.

Why? does this have to do with the apron BS? What other trades are we trying to do?

Assuming the Ayo deal is official, they can't trade him for six months. I think that's just a normal protection built in for vet free agents and has nothing to do with the Apron.

I'd rather have Ayo than Tobias anyway.

I want him back on the team, but he's not bringing the ball 94 feet against pressure in April. If he than this team isn't serious
Idk Mike Conley put up some pretty good stats this year in the playoffs as a bench player. He was not the problem with the group in the playoffs. The guy made 50% of his threes on decent volume and in the Spurs series he had just 2 turnovers and 17 assists. I'm not saying we should be relying on him for playoff minutes this coming year but there is legit evidence that he can still bring it in a limited role. His size on defense was a problem but I can live with that if he does other Conley things (including good team defense) for 10-15 minutes a game.

In terms of ball handling yes you can never have enough...and 3 point shooting. Ball ands both and then if Ayo is on the floor now you have Ball Edwards and Ayo all threats to do both of those things. It's intriguing. Ball if healthy kinda changes things in a pretty good way including PF spot.
What I'm saying is that if you trade one of them, you're know pretty shallow their.
I agree that Mike can make some stuff happen still, but like.... Let's great real this team needs to grow up from needing Mike to lower the temperature and calm down the offense.
And if it were up to me, I want Ayo and hopefully TJ to hold as accountability measures for when Ball decides to pull up from half court or when Ant isn't paying attention on defense.
I doubt that happens but if this is gonna work then Finch needs a way to rein in LaMelo. Trading ball handlers away isn't gonna help you there.
This is why I personally think it's more important to get a proven perimeter defender (or you just keep Green), cause I'm not sure Ayo can handle that and if gives him more room to be a secondary ball handler.
I agree with you, Aussie, on your accountability point. I’ll add that having positional scoring depth with Ayo and TSJ will be important to the team’s ability to manage all’s minutes to keep his ankles healthy. I see a very strong core on this team of Ant, Ball, Jaden, Rudy, Ayo, and TSJ along with Beringer if Joan is ready. Our PF simply needs to be a solid role player to complements the core. We should be able to land that sort of player one way or another with our $6M MLE or a Josh Green trade to a team looking for long term cap flexibility and a solid 3&D wing for next season. We’re cleared our draft cupboards and dipped heavily into our core with Naz to land LaMelo Ball. Now it’s time to be smart and fill a gap in our skin without cutting out any more of our muscle.

Ayo for Tobias would probably go down as one of the worst Wolves trades in our franchise history - and that’s a very serious indictment.
