BREAKING: LeBron James will continue his NBA career for the 2026-27 season and has informed the Los Angeles Lakers that the franchise can move on without him because he will play elsewhere, Klutch Sports CEO Rich Paul tells ESPN.
Interesting turn of events. Wonder who he has his eyes on.
Best guess is Golden State. He and Steph ride off into the sunset...
Yeah, makes the most sense when factoring in his family too.

Man, $14M is a lot for him.

Yeah, that $6M Taxpayer MLE might be pretty useless. If Jock is getting that much money....yikes!

Congrats to him! Honestly he deserves to make that money he has had a couple seasons where IMO he has been more valuable than the vet min. Idk if he is worth 14 million but honestly he is probably actually worth more than say 6 million or whatever.

He is just another example of we need to be looking for that guy that hasn't quite made it yet despite doing some good things...and then find a way to sign that guy to a reasonable contract before they really kill it

Free agent forward Precious Achiuwa has agreed on terms to re-sign with the Sacramento Kings on a two-year, $11.5M deal, league sources tell me.

BREAKING: The Los Angeles Clippers are nearing deal sending Kawhi Leonard to the Toronto Raptors for Brandon Ingram, Gradey Dick, 2 first-round picks, 1 pick swap and 2 second-rounders, sources tell ESPN. A return to Canada for the Raptors champion and two-time Finals MVP.
Yet another big trade.

LeBron James has instructed Rich Paul to talk to everyone around the league who is interested in him playing for them and come back to him with what the options are so he can make his decision, a source familiar with James' thinking told ESPN.

Leave LA to go bring a trophy back to where the Lakers began in Minnesota. On a contract where you pay the team for the privilege to do so. Perfect retirement tour. You can even bring your kid.

That essentially right at the taxpayer MLE. Achiuwa was the best pure defensive/rebounding PF with a solid offensive game in the paint. The Wolves should be able to sign Jeremy Sochan, Jonathan Isaac or Kevin Love at the vet minimum or some portion of the taxpayer MLE. Marvin Bagley might be available for the full taxpayer MLE. Of course, there’s alway Kyle Anderson.

But I think it’s clear the Wolves are going to trade a Josh Green package of some sort for a non-taxpayer MLE caliber PF. I think the writing was on the wall the moment the Wolves re-signed Clark. That made it clear to me the Wolves had no intuition of keeping Green. It’s equally clear that Green package will be used to acquire a rotation front-court player given the glaring hole we have with the departure of both Randle and Naz.

We really have no idea exactly what player or players the Wolves are targeting, but we can safely assume the Wolves have have specific targets in mind and have had those targets in mind from the moment they made the Ball deal. It’s also reasonable to assume they are targeting players who fall in the $12-$17 million range who can be obtained in exchange for Green alone or Green and Mo or possibly TSJ. That much seems clear from the Wolves decision to take Josh Green as part of the Ball deal. Green could have been directed elsewhere but the Wolves likely wanted a player with some positive trade value at a salary of around $15 million to match the salaries of their trade targets. Green has positive value because of his expiring contract and his 3&D skill set that has significantly value around the League.

The Wolves are probably targeting a PF who can stretch the floor a bit as their main rotation addition to fit well next to Rudy, but I’m not certain. The Wolves obviously need more size/physicality up front to rebound and out-muscle to certain opposing bigs inside. Right now, we have players who can shoot but we have absolutely no one on the roster with size and physicality inside. So I’m assuming the Wolves will look to free agency for a banger/rebounder and focus the trade on acquiring more of an offensive PF.

Of course, we’ve seen enough of Tim Connelly so far to know we shouldn’t be surprised if we wake up tomorrow and fund that Rudy Gobert was just traded for Jalen Duran.
