I had the opposite reaction, kek. But I definitely prefer our roster.
I get that. In a vacuum I don’t dislike any move even though I think Reeves and Kessler are overpays in the apron era. But all together I hate it. Just think they locked themselves into a meh team with no assets with no big upside assuming Kessler doesn’t take a big jump
Reaves/Grimes/Luka/Sandro/Kessler

Who plays defense other than Kessler. The rest are average or plenty worse.

Sexton, Ayton, Vando, Bronny bench?

No picks. No real promising youth on tiny contracts.. No real moves to be made for two years.

Not worried about them at all.
Who's the main point of attack defender

There gonna have to play alot of zone

kekgeek wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 11:26 am I actually hate the lakers offseason.

Reeves max (overpay)
Kessler (overpay) not even including the picks
Grimes/Sandro/Sexton I like them all in a vacuum but they gave them long term money for mostly one spike year of production (besides Sexton)

I don’t think they are a top 5 team in the west with 0 tradable assets

Hope you’re right, Kek. My #1 basketball priority is pulling for the Wolves. My #2 priority is pulling for the Lakers to fail miserably.

Phenom wrote: Wed Jul 01, 2026 5:52 pm I've always felt that when a team keeps its own player and goes above the max that other teams could give, that extra money should be salary cap exempt. If the league is serious about teams getting to keep their home grown talent, this is the way.

We have seen many times that these contracts get too big and teams have to get out from them. Example is when Jimmy Butler was traded to us before he could get his big raise.

That said, I'm pissed if I'm a Celtics fan.
I agree with you but the league does not want that they want what is happening now. Non stop trades to keep them in the news cycle
There's definitely some middle ground to be had. I think giving teams a single supermax exception could be a nice tweak to the current setup. When it starts biting bigger market teams I'm sure it'll be a bigger deal.

Or.... maybe Superstars will realize it's better to avoid the super max like Brunson if the team is using those savings to improve the roster to try to win it all. How awesome would it be if Ant took a non super max extension?

Just a thought experiment:

Would you trade in a hypothetical looking back at sign n trade or future trade:

Raps: Jaden, Ayo

Wolves: Scottie Barnes

To me that seems like fair value. But i am also not overly high on Scottie.

Free agent center Marvin Bagley III has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Nuggets, sources tell ESPN. A critical frontcourt addition for the Nuggets.

Makes me wonder who the Wolves are going after.

Yeah if he signs for the minimum it definitely seems like the Wolves weren't considering promising any bigger role than he will get in Denver.

The Memphis Grizzlies added more draft capital to their retooling effort Wednesday by trading forward Santi Aldama to the Dallas Mavericks for AJ Johnson, a 2030 first-round pick and a pair of future second-round picks, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

That seems like a pretty good return for Aldama who I do like.

So criteria for the 2028 1st rd pick in the PG13 trade is if it is in the top 8, the 76ers keep it but it goes to Celts. If it is pick 9-30 it goes to Nets. But if THAT pick doesn't convey to Celts, then the 76ers also have the clippers 2028 1st unprotected and Celts get the best swap of either Clippers or 76ers draft position.

So basically they have a chance at a top 8 pick or best position unprotected depending on how things shake out.

Plus they also got the 2031 unprotected 1st by 76ers. Where Embiid will be gone. And Brown will be mid 30's.
