So why is KG on the Wolves payroll? Does he do anything to help the organization? As I recall, I don’t think he even attended any of the Wolves playoff games last season. KG was a great player and remains the 2nd best player in Wolves history. But I’ve alway viewed him as a dick and a bit of a clown. He is probably the least interesting commentator among all the former NBA players. Actually, watching him is downright embarrassing much of the time.

I am so confused. Do explain how Garnett is the 2nd best player in Wolves history. Ya know.... the guy who won an mvp and a defensive player of the year. An ACTUAL hall of famer.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 3:48 pm https://www.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/c ... _new_york/

Results matter. KG is the best player to ever play for the Wolves, but he's a hall of famer for the success he had in Boston. It took Ant 5 seasons to pass KG's 14 season Wolves legacy of playoff wins. Took 5 years to pass him in playoff points as well. It should only take 10 years for Ant to pass KG's 14 years for all time Wolves points.Mnwild1128 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:41 pmI am so confused. And where do the two stack up in rebounds…blocks….assists…triple doubles….calling KGs wolves career meaningless towards his Hall of fame career is criminally stupid.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:56 pmResults matter. Following this logic, no wolves players are great because non have achieved the result of championship and therefor all the time we have collectively spent watching them has been a waste and is not worth remembering.

What? I said KG was the best player to ever play for the Wolves period. Clearly everything he did on the wolves was important to his legacy. Boston is where he solidified his hall of fame. Playoff success is everything in this league. It's why Lebron is still chasing the ghost of Jordan, despite having the regular season stats. As long as Ant plays here 10 years he should have every Timberwolves playoff record and every regular season record except rebounds, blocks, double/doubles triple/doubles, and free throw percentage Doesn't mean KG success here was meaningless, it was a lot of our youth watching years. If this Wolves team wins a championship in the next few years, it's not even a conversation who the best Wolf was. Not who the best player in the NBA was, but who the best Wolf was.BeenLurkin wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 10:38 pmAnd where do the two stack up in rebounds…blocks….assists…triple doubles….calling KGs wolves career meaningless towards his Hall of fame career is criminally stupid.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:56 pmResults matter. Ant has how many defensive first teams? How many MVPs? Don’t count chickens before they hatch. Kg is the goat till someone finishes him off. Ants in a good trajectory but could be traded before he’s half way to the rest of garnetts numbers. If it only matters what they do for their current team then Ant s has a ways to go in maybe a short amount of time if we don’t win it all before the extensions come a calling.

KG was making the hall regardless of what happened in Boston. Meaning.... had he stayed with the Wolves and not won a title.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 11:30 pmWhat? Re: 2026 FA/Trades/Resigns
Evans performance last night didn't blow his contract opportunity...
The Minnesota Timberwolves signed Isaiah Evans to a four-year, $9.3 million deal, which includes three fully guaranteed years and a fourth-year team option, league sources told @hoopshype. Evans was the 33rd pick of the 2026 NBA Draft and was an All-ACC Team selection at Duke.
As others mentioned, I did like his energy last night, and he even showed some defensive chops. I expect nothing from him this year as he will likely spend a fair amount of the early season down in the G-league.

I think they made a pretty big deal out of him attending a home game In the Denver series?Coolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 9:28 pmAgreed LipLipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 3:48 pm https://www.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/c ... _new_york/

Some thoughts on this. I catch his pod with Paul Pierce a fair bit I usually seek the ones out that they talk Wolves during the season. They had around a 2 week gap after the draft, but he also didn't talk about the Ball trade at all which made me wonder if he isn't allowed to talk about pending Wolves deals just like coaches and stuff can't. As for the Lebron stuff it also makes me wonder if he's privy to stuff or is involved in some way. It could explain why he has not mentioned the idea of Lebron with the Wolves.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2026 3:48 pm https://www.reddit.com/r/timberwolves/c ... _new_york/
