Lebron is doing this to keep the spotlight off the real sweepstakes. The Bronny Sweepstakes.

As noted, I think it's been blatantly obvious that the primary plan is to keep James at the top of the news cycles. I mean we have 20+ years with LeBron James on + off the court as evidence.

In fact, I'd be shocked if his next team doesn't know already.
He's not dragging it out and no team knows. As I said previously multiple major NBA people have EMPHATICALLY said "NO ONE KNOWS ANYTHING". No team knows. No player knows. No NBA media people know. Rich Paul doesn't even know.

I get it. We all want this to be settled, but lets be realistic here. This is the tightest lipped situation possibly in the history of the league lol. At this point we've heard just about everything we could possibly hear about this, all the speculation, etc, etc, so there is legitimately no reason for Lebron to intentionally drag it out any further. Seriously what benefit is there?

Nobody on this board knows if LeBron has made his decision or not. But I side with those that think he has. And while I wouldn't rate Rich Paul up there with Abe Lincoln in terms of honesty, it's not unlikely that James is keeping the secret even from him. You ask what benefit there is to him in dragging it out, and I think there are a few that jive with his personality:

Attention: We've known since The Decision that James craves the limelight. What better for him than to be mentioned in every sports update on every network for weeks or even months?
Power: In some ways, James seems to consider himself bigger than the NBA. Dragging out his decision hamstrings every team that still needs to make roster moves (like our Wolves), proving that he is indeed more powerful than the NBA.

By the way, on balance I am an admirer of James both as a basketball player and a man. But I also admit that his behavior this summer is irritating to me.

I'm starting to morph back into LeBron hater mode

The Sixers are second round fodder, Embid will get injured again and miss the playoffs, at best be significantly hampered. Too many ball dominant players who won't mesh, the bench is an atrocity. Philly will turn on the team and Lebron, he will get pissy about it and not exercise his player option. He will then spend his final year in Cleveland not winning anything but having the city kiss his ass

The End

Interesting to hook your wagon on the only MVP in history to never play in a conference championship game

Brown said Bronny isn’t a pro

Jaylen Brown wanted out of Boston to be the guy and now he is the 4th option when it matters

Yeah, out of his 5 teams they were #4 for me. IDK how they manage all those ball dominant players unless they just rotate games off (L O L) & I agree it's a train wreck waiting to happen (and now I'm not so secretly hoping for it lol). I'm not at all surprised he chose not to go to MN, but it's disappointing that time and time again MN is the odd man out even when without question it was the best roster fit. It's just status quo for MN sports fans, in the end we always get the shaft.

Now the focus is back to this young core. Is the Ant/Ball tandem what unlocks them. So far they are off to a great start off season wise. Both hanging out already and working on a team trip to France to workout with Rudy.

I had figured this was why you were upset with Lebron not making his decision earlier. I'm hear for you man and I gave you a donation.

What's wild is there would have been a time when a 2 year 8 million deal would have been a massive amount of money for an NBA player. Now it's minimum wage. Lol maybe Lebron will help you out.
