Vikings won’t pick up Adrian Peterson’s 2017 option, making him a free agent
Re: Vikings won’t pick up Adrian Peterson’s 2017 option, making him a free agent
I was listening to the latest purple podcast and they said AP is still waiting for a big role and they really wondered when and where he will end up. They brought up the point that teams hate distractions and AP will bring tons of people wherever he ends up. They also say AP is gonna want to be the center of things and...man it makes me glad we have moved on. Oh yeah and he wants to get paid. Lol

AP found a hole with the Saints for 3 million. That spot makes sense Ingram is a nice enough player but looking at their roster they do really have anything else and the Saints rotate guys there.
I can't help but wondering if AP would have told the Vikings he would sign for 3-4 million and do whatever they asked if he would still be here. Idk The longer it has been since they cut him loose the more glad I am that they moved on. I hope he doesn't play in preseason so he sucks that first week against the Vikings. Lol

The problem with that is AP cannot do what they need from him in this offense and AP no longer has the speed to be that back you build your offense around. As with Moss, I'm glad I had the opportunity to watch AP in his prime for my team, but I'm also just as happy to move on as the time had long since come to do so.

I agree with all that (not sure about him not having enough burst he hasnt been healthy enough to see but he has lost some) i just wonder if the Vikings would have brought him back if the price tag was that type of range. It's just a weird thing I can't help speculating about. The Vikings have the best knowledge of what AP can and can't do at this point so...yeah. Honestly I am surprised they moved on so easily. I think it was for the best though as you pointed out.

So, you're saying Kamara will be great in the Saints' offense?
"He'll be double great," the coordinator said.
"They did get one of my favorite guys in [Alvin] Kamara, who is really a big-time back. He is Jamaal Charles, he is Reggie Bush, he is fabulous"
NFL coordinator
Could there not be implications for a better-known back on the Saints' roster? After all, Adrian Peterson signed for not much more than New England gave Mike Gillislee.
"I wonder if Peterson will even make the 53-man roster," an evaluator said.
