For Randle, he could just opt in and get his 31 mil next year, and worry about a new contract next offseason. I would expect a contract extension that starts at 31 mil and increases each year thereafter.

I just don't know why you insist on giving NAZ more money than he is worth, or the Wolves can afford to give. He really has not had a great year. Is he worth more than Jaden McDaniels?!? I view his value in line with Malik Monk, who was neck and neck with NAZ for 6th man of year last season until Monk went down with a late season injury. Monk signed a contract extension starting at 17.5 mil last year. NAZ's player option is for 15 mil, so my expectation is he signs an extension in the 15 to 18 mil range. And I will not be surprised at all if NAZ decides to move on to greener pastures where he has an opportunity to start and make more money.

If NAZ does move on, we will have money to sign an interim big in free agency as we let our knew big(s) from the draft develop.
It's difficult for me to gauge how other teams in the league will value Naz. Will they consider him a no brainer starter and pay him well? A couple things to consider. He has played more each of the last couple years and while AI think he has been overall a little better player all around his efficiency has gone down and his FT rate has dropped. He is still fairly young but turns 26 in August so that's fading a bit. Will teams really think he is a center? A starting PF? Idk. On the other hand a volume 3 point shooting big that can score of the dribble and in transition and can play ina switchable defense has plenty of value. Is Naz Reid the guy some team is gonna use their likely one chance at adding a big time impact player? How much are the Wolves willing to give him? I can see the argument that it's too much but I think 20 million seems like a reasonable starting point. Monk is a worthwhile comp but Reid is a better 3 point shooter but offers some playmaking as well.

Agreed and that will be a loss. Fortunately I think it won't be hard to find another pretty good assistant, possibly an ex head coach to fill that role.

Losing assistants is the hallmark of a good organization. The really good orgs replace him with another top notch coach. So losing Nori wouldn't bother me at all.

Could even be Mike or Ingles one day.
