The Spurs, Grizzlies, Sixers and Hawks are likely to pass on Philon based on who those teams already have at the PG position. I’m afraid the Knicks will take him at #24. If not, I expect the Lakers to take him at 25.
What would you be willing to give up to go get him?
I’d give up our 2033 1st or Donte for him. Otherwise, I’d explore a Rudy package where we get back Philon and other valuable assets. But I can’t think of anyone on the Knicks or Lakers I’d want who either team would be willing to include along with Philon in a Rudy deal.
Thanks for the response. I just don't know this draft well enough to get invested in anyone too much.
What I take out of this is there might have been knowledge that he wasn't gonna go as high as it seemed so he decided to work out for a team like the Wolves. Maybe there was never really a consideration of moving up after all...maybe. Lol

I wonder if Detroit traded up for Okorie on behalf of the Wolves in an upcoming Rudy deal. PG is not a position of need for Detroit. And I don’t see Cunningham sliding over to SG but who knows. Just seems odd that they would trade up for him. Hmm.

I'd like to think the 2033 first could get the Wolves a late pick tonight and something else like some seconds at least.

Could be true, Monster. We’ll never know.

I've been hearing from Detroit analysts that they want more on ball help for Cade similar to what the Wolves want for Ant.

Will the Sixers take Philon with Maxey as their starting PG and best player? Yes, if they’re following the rule that you take the best player available.

There has been reporting that Detroit was on the look for a guard. Supposedly they were very interested in Herro if nobody was wanting him.

I don’t see a realistic scenario in which Philon ends up in Minnesota. Too bad. I see him as this draft’s PG version of Jalen Williams.

Maybe the NBA should dial back the green room invites.

The question is...if the Wolves actually want to move up and if it would be worth it. I get the sense backed on the Randle trade they aren't dying to get up for anyone. It feels like teams that hit in the 2nd round are becoming somewhat more frequent. It would be interesting to do a bit of a study on that.
