I agree with your statements exactly on how we should defend them, was thinking that last night. You double SGA and make them shoot 3's, if they are wide open so be it. Don't even let SGA get going because no matter who guards him he still gets his, make the others beat you.rapsuperstar31 wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 10:35 am We went up 2-0 on Denver last year in Denver, and had their fans completely demoralized as we go up 26 a the half on a Mike steal and Ant dunk. Denver had a few more days to work on changes, but they made some massive adjustments changing how they defended Ant, running the offense through Gordon instead of Murray, and other things. Finch has less time to make adjustments but he does need to make adjustments. He mad a few adjustments on offense like posting up Ant a few times. But he needs to make adjustment on defense which is not something he likes to do. We need go shell, close the paint, double and blitz SGA and make OKC a three point shooting team. That is the exact opposite of how we like to play defense, but our way isn't going to work against OKC mid range game. It's up to Finch (and the players of course) if they want to make this a series. I would also play 9-10 guys, 8 guys worked fine against LA and GS. If we play 10 guys, we can play hard and more physical for longer periods of time as players get some rest. I'm not sure if we can play Donte again in this series, at least not in the 2nd half. His 3rd quarter minutes have killed us in the first two games.

I think they've built their team with those possible increases in mind.
SGA, JDub and Chet are the only three they'll commit to. Everyone else can get rerouted for more players and picks.
Right now their worst contract is Ousmane Dieng at $5 mil. They're really responsible with it comes to their books.

It's been frustrating watching our guys on offense constant at OKC's strengths on defense. Jason first talks about the defensive, but then touches on the offensive end with the same observation. We'll see if Finch is up to the task!

THe problem is the same as last year. FInch loves Rudy, and will not take him out. I agree with a lot of what this guy says, but Finch just isn't good at making adjustments. I think anytime Dante or Naw are missing shots, we should be going to Clark (maybe Shannon). Same for Connelly when he isn't making shots. I have to believe that Clark will certainly get his fouls, but he can likely wear down SGA as well.60WinTim wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 10:17 pm It's been frustrating watching our guys on offense constant at OKC's strengths on defense. Going back and looking at regular season games has us playing well by giving Clark, Shannon, Dilly and Garza significant minutes, while not even having Rudy and Julius available other than the first game which we lost due to getting runover in the third quarter. Sounds familiar!
This is why I am not a fan of Finch. He continues to try the same thing over and over. Definition of insanity.
