Some teams realize you can't stand pat in this league.

I don't see the Wolves as standing pat. They had an 8-man rotation last year and got to the WCF. It will not be an 8-man rotation next year. NAW is gone, and I am confident Conley will not be the starter. We have 3 rookies with a year of learning under their belts, all of whom are poised to be contributors this year. Heck, I will not be surprised if we see some occasional minutes for Joan as we move further into the season.
I'm quite intrigued to see our new look Wolves, even if the Randle-NAZ tandem is not my favorite.

The Nuggets want to punish us. JV has always made us his bitch, they are going to be super annoying to play next year.

SGA signed a 4 year, $285M contract.
It was announced moments after I mentioned on here that Edwards was in line for $100M annually in his next deal.
No wonder NBA tickets remain some of the highest priced entertainment options out there.

It wasn’t just Brooklyn. Other teams had a lot of cap space and could have moved a few pieces to pay him the $21M he’s getting from us next season. There were also likely sign-and-trade proposals that had contract amounts associated with them.WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 10:55 amThere was only one other team who had the ability to do this without our help and that was Brooklyn. That was the market.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 30, 2025 5:42 pmNot a bad counterpoint, but not persuasive to me. I’ll just come back to the market. TC had to know that other teams were poised to offer Naz something in the neighborhood of what he gave Naz. So whatever you and I think of Naz v Aldama, it’s the market that sets a player’s contract value. If I’m wrong and TC just offered Naz the $125M contract without any basis in what he knew others were offering or poised to offer, then he’s a terrible PBO.
Naz got signed because they're betting way too much on him.

The amounts are locked.Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 11:50 amDo max contracts like Ant's follow the same trajectory as the cap? Will his raises be 10% this season and 7 % next season? I think that is how it works.
I wonder if Naz’s contract can be adjusted to be a 7% raise next summer or if he locked in to 8%.
Re: Around the league offseason
I know they are locked (once the ink dries) but I'm more wondering about the structure that the team locks into. If you project a 7 percent jump in a year, and maybe a better jump the year after, can you structure the contract to do the same?Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 2:29 pmThe amounts are locked.
I'm pretty sure max deals like Ant's ebb and flow with the cap though. They aren't locked to a certain percent jump.

Myles Turner going to Milwaukee is a cautionary tale for when someone says "who is paying him that money" or " who were they competing against"?
The Pacers clearly had that internal dialogue and Milwaukee swooped in and figured it out.
We've can't underestimate the genius, insanity, resourcefulness, desperation, etc of 29 other teams. Someone has a way to make it happen.

Re: Around the league offseason
lol not ours. That’s 3 teams that are very clearly ahead of us in the west. What the hell is TC doing? Either make a big move or two to compete, or trade a couple of our aging vets for some better fitting younger pieces. This years playoff run was the absolute best case scenario for this group. So let’s run it back lolCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 11:32 amSome teams realize you can't stand pat in this league.
