What do we need an offseason point guard for anyways? We should be concentrating on finding a guy to play PG NEXT YEAR!?!? Who cares who our offseason Pg is?

The off-season PG is huge for the off-season. We can't have Edwards out there playmaking on his own and Connelly and Lloyd and the gang need the right guy to help set up their moves. Most people don't realize how good Rudy's off-season defense is.

People can pick their favorite PG and say "Go get 'em, TC!" But that player may not be realistically available, or simply too expensive get. I have my top 6, any one of which I would be very happy if TC pulled it off (while off-loading Randle):

LaMelo Ball - $40.7M, $43.5M, $46.4M
Kyrie Irving - $39.5M, $42.4M (Player Option)
DeJounte Murray - $32.8M, $30.8M (Player Option) *** I fixed it!
Jrue Holiday - $34.8M, $37.2M (Player Option)
Immanuel Quickley -$32.5, $32.5, $32.5
Derrick White - $30.4M, $32.5M, $34.9M (Player Option)

I keep thinking there could be some steam behind Quickley, although it would likely require a 3rd team...
Thanks Tim. The reason for the error on Murray was because I copied my pre-trade deadline post on PG options and updated it. I must have forgotten to delete that first salary line on DeJounte.

The options you listed are all good ones. But if we go make a big splash at some other position besides PG, then I REALLY like the idea of doing what would be a fairly minor deal with Memphis to get one of their surplus guards - Cam Spencer, Scottie Pippen Jr., or Ty Jerome. No way can Memphis keep all those guys PLUS the three other legit rotation guards they have including Ja.

How much would it cost to sign Brandon Williams? I know the 3 point shot is an issue but it looks to me like he is a guy that gets into the paint and that's something different than some of the other guards they have had other than Edwards.

It would be nice to get one of those cheap guards out of nowhere like Pippen Jr. The organization did well finding McLaughlin years ago but finding a guy like that who could score some would be pretty nice. It's not a guarantee to find someone like that but it's also reasonably doable.
