I want a young guy like this but I also think Kyle Anderson would be a solid player on the roster but I also want young guys to play. We need to see how the other moves play out. Randle is gone.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2026 9:09 pmThanks for waiting and not leaving without me, Monster!. He’s an energy guy with untapped upside. Looks like he won’t cost much. Assuming we trade Randle and bump Naz up as our starting PF, we’ll want to add some depth to that position. Jeremy is a disruptive high-energy defender, which would be a nice complement to Naz’s offensive game.
Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options
I think Scotty Pippen Jr. is the most gettable and might be able to be had for a 2nd rounder or two.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2026 8:18 pmQ - Which Memphis guard would be your top target for the Wolves? Maybe rank them in order with what you’d consider to be realistic trades to acquire each one. I like them all for different reasons but I don’t have a good sense of which would be best for us or what it would take to get them.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2026 8:11 pmI'll add him, but don't know why Chicago would trade him. Isn't he part of the core that Chicago wants to build around after the mess of guards they transacted on at the deadline this past season?60WinTim wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2026 9:34 pm Q!!!! I just noticed you did not include Giddey in your list! But I guess there wasn't a lot of reason to think he was available. Being he has been tossed out there as a possible target, you should edit your first post to add Giddey's numbers.
Future mentioned him earlier on in this thread. After doing my due diligence, Giddey is #1 on my list of preferred ball handlers.
Keep an eye on those Memphis guards!
The Grizzlies have a massive surplus of guards: Morant, Coward, KCP, Jerome, Clayton, Spencer, and Pippen Jr. Pretty much all those guys except Clayton are deserving of regular rotation minutes. There just aren't enough minutes to go around even if Morant is traded. And don't forget they have GG Jackson and Jaylen Wells as well, both of whom are big enough to play SF, but also bleed into the SG group as well.
I'd put Cam Spencer in a similar category as Pippen Jr. in terms of cost.
It's a coin flip as to whom I would prefer between the two. Cam Spencer is the better offensive player and Pippen Jr. is the better defensive player. Both can play PG.
Then there is Ty Jerome, who has turned into an elite scorer and shot maker that can also make plays for others. Similar to Spencer, defense is a weakness. He is also older and costs more than the other two. He'd probably be my 3rd choice, but I could still see a fit for him. Not sure how he'd blend with TJ Shannon though if the expectation is that Shannon takes a bigger role off the bench with the ball in his hands. That'd be Ty Jerome's specialty, so he doesn't make as much sense if the front office has a lot of confidence in Shannon.

Jack Kayil it is.
Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options
Given the fact we are now free to use the full non-taxpayer MLE of $15M, there really isn't a PG out there to use it on. Collin Gillespie would have been an excellent addition to our guard rotation, but Phoenix already signed him.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Mon Jun 22, 2026 8:25 pm Grouped by archetype and then from high to low in terms of contract value with annual salary starting next season:

Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options
I have the same take, Q. I’m perfectly content to move forward with Ayo as our starting PG. I would sign Tyus Jones as a free agent. We can probably get him on a vet minimum deal. I like him as a solid game manager who won’t turn the ball over. If we want more offensive firepower from our backup PG, then we might as well stick with Bones. My sense is that the Wolves won’t be content moving forward with Ayo as our starting PG and that therefore they will use the trade exception or Rudy to acquire White, Suggs, Fox or Giddy. And who knows, maybe Kyrie is still in play although I sure hope not.Q-is-here wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2026 8:30 amGiven the fact we are now free to use the full non-taxpayer MLE of $15M, there really isn't a PG out there to use it on. Re: Wolves Offseason Point Guard Options
Do we need a new list compiled for Centers on the chance we swap Rudy for a PG and shift our biggest need to Veteran starting center? Someone compile!
