I would have gladly taken Lebron for the vet min and I think I was warming to it more and more the longer it went on. However there was a little element of it feeling a little cheap but I mean some of that probably is going back to MN not exactly being a FA destination. I'm excited to see what we do going forward.TheGrey08 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 11:04 amYeah, out of his 5 teams they were #4 for me. IDK how they manage all those ball dominant players unless they just rotate games off (L O L) & I agree it's a train wreck waiting to happen (and now I'm not so secretly hoping for it lol). I'm not at all surprised he chose not to go to MN, but it's disappointing that time and time again MN is the odd man out even when without question it was the best roster fit. It's just status quo for MN sports fans, in the end we always get the shaft.BloopOracle wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 10:53 am I'm starting to morph back into LeBron hater mode
The Sixers are second round fodder, Embid will get injured again and miss the playoffs, at best be significantly hampered. Too many ball dominant players who won't mesh, the bench is an atrocity. Philly will turn on the team and Lebron, he will get pissy about it and not exercise his player option. He will then spend his final year in Cleveland not winning anything but having the city kiss his ass
The End
Now the focus is back to this young core. Is the Ant/Ball tandem what unlocks them. So far they are off to a great start off season wise. Both hanging out already and working on a team trip to France to workout with Rudy.

Yeah, I started out cool on it, but early on the more reasoning I saw people making on the fit, the more I liked it. Especially in terms of the effect he would have had on all the young players. His energy, knowledge, work ethic, etc had the potential to springboard this core for years to come, plus all the off the court stuff like the youth league connection with Ant/Ball, etc.Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 11:14 amI would have gladly taken Lebron for the vet min and I think I was warming to it more and more the longer it went on. I just think it would have been a super fun ride and to FINALLY have a star choose MN. Yet again though, as a friend just said to me "Always the bridesmaid". May not be a more perfect way to put it.

Re: LeBron Sweepstakes
Thank God it's finally over. Bad choice for Bron imo however
Re: LeBron Sweepstakes
Looking at the Sixers roster they have a nice group of talent. That starting 5 is pretty good. Then they have Dean Wade and A Simons off the bench. After that they are looking at some young players including Justin Edwards and for bigs they are relying on Barlow who looks to be a solid guy and a bunch of young center options that are less proven. If Embiid gets hurt what do they have behind him? They look to have quite a bit of offensive firepower if he isn't healthy but are any of those guys gonna be able to defend in the playoffs? If Embiid does stay healthy and they can get people on the same page (that was something to consider just about anywhere he went) they could be a pretty good team. PG and Embiid played less than half the season and they still won 45 games last year. They lost some contributors from last season though but they also gained some. Anywho good luck Lebron and see you in the finals! Lol

I appreciate the contribution, Monster, but $5? Come on!Monster wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 11:08 amI had figured this was why you were upset with Lebron not making his decision earlier. 2 years, $8 mil
player option on year 2
we can put this to bed finally
What's wild is there would have been a time when a 2 year 8 million deal would have been a massive amount of money for an NBA player. Now it's minimum wage. Lol maybe Lebron will help you out.
Actually I didn't bet this one. For a long time I thought it was Cleveland, and then I thought it was Miami...but the odds on both were too short to bet. I wasn't really thinking Philly, and neither were many bettors given the long odds!
I like the Philly club now that they have Brown and James. I understand the irony Kek laid out about Brown wanting to go somewhere to be the man, and now LeBron is there! But was he really going to be the man on a team with Maxey and Embiid? There are a lot of mouths to feed, but I think they can make it work...they're my pick in the East.

I think there is something wrong with your go fund me page. I definitely had more zeros with that 5!!!FNG wrote: ↑Fri Jul 24, 2026 1:06 pmI appreciate the contribution, Monster, but $5? I haven't delved into the Brown thing too much. It also seemed like Boston wasn't really in love with keeping him. Brown is an interesting guy and very intelligent. I would think he is gonna be highly motivated to prove people including the Celtics wrong about him. The Sixers now have 2 former MVPs and 1 other guy in Brown that was a legit contender for that last year and Maxey? That's an impressive group.
