It’s been a tough summer for me. Bruce Thornton was almost with my grasp but got away. Now Jeremy Sochan. But at least I still have Rocco!

Russell Westbrook retires. That kinda surprised me he can definitely still play. He had a hell of a career.

BREAKING: Cleveland, Denver and the Clippers have agreed on a trade sending Payton Watson to the Cavaliers, Max Strus to LA, and an unprotected 2031 Cavs first-round pick and a 2032 Kings second-rounder to the Nuggets, sources tell ESPN.
Watson will sign a new four-year, $88 million deal to join the Cavaliers, plus a player option and a trade kicker.

Julian Reese is someone I’d love to bring in to replace Freeman on a two way.
Re: 2026 FA/Trades/Resigns
The Cavs are no longer a good fit for Kuminga. Payton Watson fills the starting role that would have been Kuminga’s. So if the reports are correct that it was a three-team competition for Kuminga between the Wolves, Lakers and Cavs, it looks like it has just become 2-team competition between the Wolves and Lakers. I’d still give the edge to the Lakers because they’re better positioned than the Wolves for a viable sign-and-trade that would give Kuminga the money he’s looking for. I just don’t see Kuminga as a guy who will settle for the vet minimum. He doesn’t seem like a player who thinks he has something to prove, even though he clearly does. Instead, he seems like player who feels entitled to more than he’s proven to be worth. Even the reality of getting moved by two teams in his relatively short career and having very few suitors in free agency apparently hasn’t entirely gotten through to him. If he signs with the Wolves for the minimum, that alone will quell some of my concern about him. But I don’t expect that to happen.

I agree, Wild. Or maybe just sign him to a partially guaranteed contract to fill the 14th roster spot. He won’t stretch the floor, but he’d provide size, strength, energy and rebounding to the Wolves PF position. And he offers upside as well at age 23. Here’s a scouting report on Reese:WildWolf2813 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 7:58 pm Julian Reese is someone I’d love to bring in to replace Freeman on a two way.
Julian Reese is a power forward/center. He measured 6’10” and 263 lbs with. 7’0.5” wingspan and 9’0” standing reach in the athletic testing and measurements portion of the 2025 Portsmouth Invitational Tournament (PIT).
Julian Reese is a highly impactful, high-energy interior defender and elite rebounder, though he is still adapting to complex NBA defensive schemes. He built his reputation as a defensive anchor at Maryland, utilizing his 7-foot-0.5-inch wingspan and physical toughness to secure the paint.
Core Defensive Strengths/Elite Rebounding: Reese projects as a premium rebounder at the pro level, using his frame to lock down defensive possessions. During his 13-game regular-season stint with the Washington Wizards in 2026, he averaged 6.31 defensive rebounds per game (10.54 total rebounds).Activity & Hands: He relies on a high-effort motor to disrupt plays, showcasing active hands that translate to deflections. He averaged 1.38 steals per game during his 2026 NBA stretch.College Provenance: At Maryland, he averaged 1.3 blocks over his career and frequently neutralized elite Big Ten centers through physical positioning.
Areas for DevelopmentOver-Aggressiveness: Like many young big men, scouting reports note that Reese can get "jumpy" near the rim, biting on pump fakes and hunting blocks.Foul Trouble: His high-octane style leads to high foul numbers. In his limited 2026 NBA action, he averaged 3.23 personal fouls per game in about 31 minutes of play.Scheme Adaptability: Analysts emphasize that he needs time to refine his positioning and pick-and-roll coverage within structured NBA defensive rotations.Overall, his baseline of motor, size, and rebounding gives him the floor of a highly effective backup defensive big man as he irons out his rookie mistakes.
Re: 2026 FA/Trades/Resigns
Idk 3.3 fouls a game for a rookie big man center that plays over 30mpg with energy doesn't seem that bad to me. I was expecting the number to be a lot higher than that with that concern. I guess the question I have is can he guard anyone other than centers? I have no clue.Lipoli390 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 19, 2026 10:22 pmI agree, Wild.
