Haha very true, but Naz isn’t Turner. Also, the amount of money Turner got shows that Naz was an overpay. I don’t think there was a great chance that anyone else offers Naz 5/125, with a player option, and if they do I say congrats and then I find a better way to spend that money on our final 4 roster spots.Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 7:20 pm Myles Turner going to Milwaukee is a cautionary tale for when someone says "who is paying him that money" or " who were they competing against"?
The Pacers clearly had that internal dialogue and Milwaukee swooped in and figured it out.

Re: Around the league offseason
No doubt, people are fooling themselves about this team. We'r.e actually down one competent player going into next season. This is about making the playoffs and hoping to get 5-8 gates. I will be predicting us to lose in the first round next year.D-Loser25 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 7:32 pmlol not ours. That’s 3 teams that are very clearly ahead of us in the west. What the hell is TC doing? Either make a big move or two to compete, or trade a couple of our aging vets for some better fitting younger pieces. This years playoff run was the absolute best case scenario for this group. So let’s run it back lolCoolbreeze44 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 11:32 amSome teams realize you can't stand pat in this league.

So we are dividing ourselves into two groups? Are all these doom and groomers the ones that also predicted a WCF finals appearance this past season? You aren't still convinced?60WinTim wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:31 pmSo we are dividing ourselves into two groups? lol. I’m in the “we WILL be a good club” but we won’t make the Western Conference Finals” club.60WinTim wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:31 pmSo we are dividing ourselves into two groups? Re: Around the league offseason
I didn’t predict a WCF appearance this year. I think we were lucky to not be a play in team this year and then we were fortunate to match up well against our two opponents and stay healthy in the playoffs. I actually predict a similar record next year, so that’s definitely not “sucking”, especially in the western conference. I predict that we’ll be seeded in the 5-7 range though and I believe we’ll most likely lose to a superior team in the 1st round (law of averages)Phenom wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 8:38 pmAre all these doom and groomers the ones that also predicted a WCF finals appearance this past season? Re: Around the league offseason
I'm also in the "we will be good" club. I believe I was one of only 4 here that predicted we would be going to the WCF again, but three of us (Volans, Drew and me) were too optimistic about the win total...only sundog nailed the WCF and 49 wins! Anyway, I also predicted we would win fewer games last season than the previous season, because I anticipated some struggles working 2 guys who had not been on the team the prior year into the rotation. And that happened. But while there will hopefully be some guys getting big minutes this season that were not in the rotation last season, they are not new...they know the coaches, they know the players, they know the system. And further, I think all of us expect Ant and Jaden to keep improving. So I don't see any reason we shouldn't hit the ground running in October and build on the 17-4 finish to the season plus two playoff series wins. Barring any serious injuries, "we will be good"...it's a lock!
Re: Around the league offseason
OKC will definitely be better next year. By the time Edwards reaches his prime he will be tired of losing to the thunder and he’ll demand to be traded. Is this team capable of beating OKC in a 7 game series?
Re: Around the league offseason
I dont think Turner's money tells us much other than the Pacers are cheap (and probably unimaginative) and the Bucks paid him as much as they could.D-Loser25 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 01, 2025 7:42 pmHaha very true, but Naz isn’t Turner.
